its safe to say that the reinstatement of the account of xenutv1 is not going to happen, and so further discussion of the topic in this thread isn't needed. There are other ways in which we can still win the battle, but this is a dead end. Therefore, we don't need to discuss mark's account being reinstated anymore.

This "let's stop bawwwing at YouTube" attitude is really getting my goat at the moment.

Firstly, us bawwing at them and making their lives a little more miserable isn't derailing our efforts - they are being done IN ADDITION to the all the other acts/research/projects going on.

Secondly, let's put this into its proper context shall we? YouTube were way out of line on this issue and I strongly suspect €o$ involvement. I for one have no intentions of letting this drop anytime soon because YouTube is THE video website. It is the website that John Q public goes to so it makes no fucking sense to abandon it. Seriously - this fucking movement/activism/<whatever you want to call it> owes a large part of its effectiveness to that original YouTube video - that's a MAJOR BIG-TIME MEDIA OUTLET you are asking us to abandon.

Thirdly, the €o$ has existed by silencing critics. They cut their voice and watched them disappear into silent obscurity. Whether or not you like WBM doesn't matter - what matters is that he is well known, well spoken and well on our side here. Him having an outlet is good for us and him having the outlet that the average Joe uses is even better.

Fourthly, IF we abandon YouTube then we will have been pushed back from a valuable frontline. If we allow this bastion to fall uncontested then what is to stop the same thing happen at any other site we use? What if LiveLeak gets into money troubles and takes a €o$ payment? What if the Vimeo operators are tempted by €o$ greenbacks? The reality is that we should use EVERY outlet available including YouTube. And while YouTube remains at the forefront it should understandably get more of our attention.

Bottom line is that this is a test for anonymous. How we fare here may determine how we fare in similar conflicts on other sites. If we roll over without so much as a peep then we will do so on the next site, and the next and so on until WE have been expelled from the internet.

xenutv1 gets suspended due to violation on xenutv. Unable to create duplicate account to get around suspension. Okay, standard TOS stuff.

What if someone creates xenutvX (or whatever), and AUTHORISES WBM to use that channel, and he gives permission for his copyrighted material to appear on that channel. I had a quick squizz of the TOS for YouTube and this might slip in.

I agree. This is TOO important to drop. We can't let a prominent critic of Co$ get booted off. YouTube is making it look like their hands are tied, but they aren't.

XenuTV had a violation. XenuTV1 did not. So, why can't they remove (not disable) XenuTV, and reinstate XenuTV1? That fucking simple.

Someone who does not currently have a youtube account (ie: no risk of any 'more than one account' issues, should create 'xenutv2' for themselves, and host his stuff on his behalf in their name. It's a good idea AnonD - shame it didn't pop up last week - Ah well... Of course, it's probably already registered to a scilon.

Note to whoever does the hosting: you must be squeaky clean (no porn or copyright violations), prepared to deal with ENORMOUS bullshit (maybe even namefagged), and dedicated to the cause (if you're about to graduate or are looking for a job, you probably shouldn't be doing this)
