Manchester, UK
I had mixed views about this protest, and I believe it was out least successful one.
The police were way out of order with their demands, we've never caused anyone any damage or problems at any of the other protests, and we have and always have been nothing but peaceful. Also, there was a distinct lack of the lulz, which was good in some aspects, and it let us focus in getting our message across a lot more, but also hurt our numbers and the overall morale. Highlights included: -Radio system: worked awesomely, with a good selection of music (mostly) - Tony and Sue getting a meeting with the head Scilon. I dont know what came of it, if any of the guys who were their would like to fill us in, be my guest. - The batshit insane Scilon lady who tried bullbaiting us all with broken logic and vicious questions. -the psychiatrist guy who was there really knew his stuff, props to him for actually being able to back up our claims. - Trolling all the Scilons with OT3. Twice. -The Punks trying to start a riot. Feel free to add to the list :) Also, Pics! Feel free to add to the list. Last edited by Shangalang; 05-10-2008 at 07:56 AM. Reason: Mee spel gud |

Re: Manchester, UK
WIN AFTER WIN AFTER WIN
Less people than, say, Party Hard but win nonetheless. There was significantly less singing and chanting, but the latter was probably down to powertripping police. Highpoints: - trolls and bullbaiting - wallchan - music - flyers all used Improvements: - MOAR SINGING |

Re: Manchester, UK
I'm not entirely sure myself but I heard tell of them telling us we couldn't chant for some reason, which may have contributed to lack of singage.
Radio system kicked ass guys ^^ |

Re: Manchester, UK
This was the first protest I've been to. While I thought the protest was generally win, I have some suggestions.
- Moar singing - Less reading dianetics/OT3 through sound system/megaphone unless directed at Scilons, none of the public have a clue what's being said - Moar tables - The protest started really well with us marching down Deansgate to the Org, I feel it should have ended in a similar way instead of simply petering out in quite a disappointing manner. I'm not implying that we all march away, but some kind of thankyou-and-goodbye message through the sound systems/megaphone would have been appreciated, followed by a farewell song on the radio - Speaking of which, somebody should bring a mixer so messages can be transmitted through the radio and heard more clearly. I'll try to bring more radios next time. - The radio could have been transmitted louder or on a frequency with not as much interference - We need more banners that make it clear that we are AGAINST Scientology Although this may seem like a lot of bad things, I'm simply thinking of all the things that could have been made a bit better, in my opinion the protest was win and more win. |

Re: Manchester, UK
I actually requested that the radio output gain be turned down, because it was causing the sound to distort on things. You have to strike a balance between volume and audability, and I happen to think the mix was good.
Check out 2008-05-10/Photos - SP for photos, including wallchan. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread and keeping the list up-to-date. Oh, and you know what really pissed me off? The police seriously had us destroy photos of Lisa. |

Re: Manchester, UK
I didn't join in but as I was in town I popped round to watch for an hour and then drove past on the way home. Some thoughts:
Some of the anons were rather sexy. Lets see even more next time please Some oldfag from over the road spent about 20 minutes bawwwing to a few guys that anonymous was scaring children (not the fact that he was trying to lure them into his pedobear shop), causing traffic accidents (wtf?) and generally blocking Deansgate (not the roadworks, of course) I thought the response to my honking was great, btw. Nice end to my trip into town |

This is the speech I recorded for the opening of the raid. Someone who shall remain anonymous forgot to bring it, so I've posted it to YouTube for the lulz. |

Re: Manchester, UK
Being as this was my first raid I'm not entirely sure how good it was in comparison to older ones but I had mixed feelings about it.
I thought that the music was awesome. There was some great songs and there was good sound. Reading of Xenu was great, even if the public didn't understand what it meant and the Scifags ran away pretty quickly. We gave out all the flyers though which was pretty good and I saw a fair few people reading them. The lack of chanting and singing was a detriment to the lulz, but that was more the police's fault than ours. And the destroying of Lisa photo's is pretty fucked up too. The annoying scientologist was a bit of a downer too, trolling us with false logic. All in all I enjoyed it though and I think that we got the message out, to at least some people. I've got a good bit of footage and a few pictures, I'll be putting them up later lyk... |

Also, the marching off at the end was probably because of the Wall of Chan :P |

Re: Manchester, UK
They seemed quite interested in our protest but more interested in keeping it unlulz.. A lot of them were reading the fliers and I tried to get them to spread it around the the station.

Fantastic job, Manchester Anons! Each month will bring different numbers, amounts of lulz, and public reaction. We are making a difference. Brick-by-brick, the cult is crumbling!
