I not only think it's not interesting enough, I think it's tired, old and been-done

I know a potentially entertaining stunt in a related alley, though it actually works way better without masks. You'd record an mp3 track with music and instructions - like "Barrel roll in 3, 2, 1.. NOW" and "Stomp your feet twice - 3, 2, 1 stomp stomp" etc etc.

Loads of Anons spread out in something like a busy square, each put the mp3 on at the exact same moment. They just act normal, don't talk, and follow the instructions. It'll look like remote controlled people, really weird and surreal.

Its much better if you find a flashmob being planned, then have an anti flashmob rickroll them all and start dancing.

The frozen idea is good, and if you can actually get that large percentage of people, acting otherwise normal, maybe buying goods, to suddenly freeze like that for a significant length of time, then you'd get a lot of attention, but you face several problems.

• You need something to connect this to Scientology or anonymous. The coercive sensorship is good, and I think it sticks, so maybe that. Signs or masks will give it away, and people will think it's just some of those lame activists. This works best if everyone is caught by surprise.
• That type of coordination requires a lot of rehearsal. Imagine having to stand completely still, with all eyes upon you, for long enough that some media crews can arrive. It takes a very strong willpower. It is also difficult to get those kinds of numbers, which are needed for it to really stand out.

It probably wouldn't work all that well in an already running protest outside the orgs because nobody would understand; they might think the bullbaiter is part of the act.

On a side note, I thought the confused look on everyone's face was hillarious.

While the frozen crowd is cool, it's also been done quite a few times by now, which makes it uninteresting. The first time was awesome, then other cities started doing it, then they did it AGAIN, and now it's "Oh those weirdo's who are standing still"

Actually very few people I know have heard of this, and I'm from a densely populated area. It would very likely have a great effect if done in my hometown. I even led protests for other causes, and the other activists were unaware of it. It probably won't die globally until some advertising agency starts paying people to do it for new products, then people treat it like a commercial. It might die in a certain area if you do it too many times or if you have a bunch of copycats (especially advertisers) though.
