the point of digging something is so that it gets to the front page, once it gets buried (usually by scilons) it can't reach the front page. If you click on the story and it has something like 200+ diggs, if you hit the "Upcomming" link and its not listed as "whats hot," its buried.

So this thread is full of fail? Can't we digg buried things out of the ground? (i'm also new to digg)

How many "buries" does it take to bury a digg? How many diggs before it is safe?

And is there a time factor involved? Like if there are a lot of buries, and then in the next so many hours more diggs, can the link be saved?

Does anybody else get great lulz from reading the dug down comments? I specifically look for ones that have significant negative numbers to see what insanity they tried to push on others.

here's what they should know: scienos can't even browse the web without a web filter that prevents them from seeing anything critical of the CoS, so no $cientologist participation on digg is legit; any burying activity is organized by the OSA and is not contributing to the digg community, but is merely an attempt to censor digg of anything critical of scientology.

almost none of the articles I've seen on scientology stay on the front page too long without getting buried. this has got to stop.

i think this is one of the most important diggs, because right now we have a situation where there is harrasment and at the same time documentation and exposure of the truth by the victim. its like both sides are using what they are best at. that makes it imho even more important how this develops.

this needs to be brought to the attention of a really large audience asap to create solidarity with and more moral support for brave Gareth Cales.
