Date and Time: August 16, 2008 from 4:20 P.M. to 7:11 P.M. (The heat is too much during the early afternoon.)

Bring:

• Yourself and your friends! Friends of friends! Family! Anyone else who wants to come
• Signs and/or sign making supplies
• Flyers - We don't have as much opportunity to hand out flyers as some other cities, but some would be helpful at the stop light.
• ICE!, H20 and caek
• Trash bags
• Comfortable shoes
• Good spirits and a cool head
• Cameras, still and video
• Water spritzers
• Battery powered fans
• Rick Astley Costumes
• Signs that are hueger than XBOX

Parking: Be creative. Some people have been meeting at the Taco Bell at 2081 Savoy Dr, Chamblee, GA 30341, about a half mile from the org, and walking over together. (Do not park here, scilons have photographed and Dev T'ed anons, and scouted license tags here.) There are many potential parking areas within walking distance if you look around. Marta runs right by the org, but only once an hour.

Other miscellany:

• Police will be notified - the police like us now, we entertain them.
• Masks are illegal, but we've had no problems with sunglasses, hats, wigs, face paint, as long as they don't cover the majority of your face. Choose your disguise/costume with wisdom, and at your own risk.
• Please contact media.
• No "honk if ..." or "... hate ..." signs.

Lolita: After you had left there was some talk about having next month's protest later in the day (like, very early evening) to beat the heat. Seemed to go over well with the few that were there.

If I go, I'm up for that; what does everyone else think?

Like I said at the protest, for those who weren't there, as long as I'm on the road for home by 7pm I'm fine with whatever.

(Also getting my 2 bits documented, because sometimes I'm an ego whore like that. )

On the plus side for later, lunchtime traffic should be eased off a bit then, for those having to do some traveling to get to the protest.

A bite later would be nice for me, while it's nice being home for dinner, not having to stand in (so much of) the wonderful Georgia heat would be great.

BTW, people might want to consider a new parking spot, for however long we're still raiding the Shallowford Rd location. One place in particular seems to be getting a good bit of traffic on protest days, making it easier to find for fair game targeting via license plates.

Later in the day, when it's cooler, would be great for me as well, at least through the summer. We discussed something like 4pm-7pm, it's open to consensus. Could be 4:20, if it makes anyone happier.

OK, there are a few major things that we need to hammer out for next month's demo:

1) When do we want to do this? 4-7PM sounds great with me. Sunburned Anon was sunburned this weekend!

2) How do we get more people interested in the protest? This could be a thread all by itself, but in a nutshell we need to find a way to get back the people that have left since March, and find new people who want to protest. Lets throw some ideas out there as to how we are going to do that.

3) Sandy Springs? Is the CO$ there, and how do we get a permit set up for that location? If namefagging is involved, who will do it?

4) Narconon: Should we mini-raid their GA location? How do we want to tackle one of the CO$'s biggest money-makers?

CSPSG is right, mix up your parking spots! We don't need to be predictable. I am glad to see that no body has parked at the Taco Bell since Feb.

4:20 to 7:11 sounds like an excellent plan to me. I concur wholeheartedly. The heat here is too much to take as is, and with August traditionally being the hottest month of the year I think that a later time would be most appropriate. I'm editing the OP with this new information. If a bunch of people come out against the new time, then maybe we can negotiate a compromise, but everyone who has posted so far is in concurrence, so I will set 4:20 as the appointed time.

Addressing Alpanons points now:

1) See above

2) I'm not too sure about this. Maybe for the September and October raids we could recruit at Dragon*Con and Anime Weekend Atlanta? Plenty of /b/tards show up there.

3) We want to do SS in September. It's too late for August, but there is plenty of time for September. Someone whom has already been name-fagged should probably do the honours of getting the permit, but if no one is up to it then I'll get myself namefagged for it. I'm certain that they already know who I am. If they haven't been able to find my identity by now then they're a bunch of failures. (As if they weren't already.)

4) Ether said that the location is worse than the Dunwoody Org so while a normal protest may not be effective, I think we could develop alternative attack plans. I have some in mind already but won't post them here publicly. Can someone send me the link for the other forum thing we have?

As for parking spots:
Yeah anyone not yet name-fagged should mix it up, but I'm gonna continue to park in the same spot because I'm not afraid of them. I'd welcome it if they tried to Fair Game me because I'd turn it back in their face so fucking fast...

I've been curious: Why are some people leaving? If anyone who has left the protests would like to tell it in their own words, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to know what can be changed at the Atlanta protest to bring you back with us.

I have a lot of ideas being tossed around in my head right now, but I don't want to say too much in public view either.

Should we break with the Hive? call our local protest what fits our wants and desires? Operation Front Groups? Should we take a break in august? Regroup, refresh? Ask ourselves, what are we accomplishing with protesting a building? Can a informative protest be had somewhere else?

Maybe a more visual street corner within Dekalb county? With more traffic and the ability to hand out moar flyers and the sharing of factual information. Shallowford is just a building, an easy target.

Imagine in your minds, sidewalks with foot traffic, intersections with 4 way stop lights to hold the passerby,s attention! This movement is about spreading information.

Dekalb county law enforcement has accepted us! The question is, where within the county can we as a group of activist,s can make the biggest impact. IMHO, Shallowford Rd is now fail. Sandy Springs is just another building, this to is fail.

Remove the tin foil and clarity is gained. Massive win and lulz can be had. Find a massive intersection within Dekalb county. Post informed critic,s at all 4 corners of the intersection.Flyer the intersection into the stone age. Have others hold sign,s on the side walks. This is about being as visual as possible. Think about it. Want foot traffic? protest across the street from a major marta station. Protest on a saturday near a major mall and its intersections.

Dekalb County understands our Ghandi tech. our peaceful ways. Our ability to protest without incident. Change is good. build on the foundation already laid. I can see it now. Concerned citizens, dressed for lulz, armed with flyers and protest signs at this intersection, Its time to morph, to grow, to advance, to share.

Protesting a building, is just that, now protesting against an ideology can be done anywhere. Bitch slap the scilons with newness! Bitch slap them with wit and wisdom.

They came across the street and bugged us because we are getting to them. They were on the other thread to harass us. I vote for current location, new time, our own damn theme!!!! I think something is working there.

I also vote for doing something elsewhere and it being completely what we want it to be. I think it should be discussed off the boards and irl. However, I have been told irl is an out of date thing and so I would like to see things discussed in as secure as manner as possible on line.

I really want to do some sort of 'exposure' flyer-run in the near future. We find a busy foot-traffic spot, and get the word out there!

A major mall would work, although I'm not sure about Marta stations (any laws concerning this?).

Also, if everyone else wants to do their own theme, then lets do it! Right now CULT FICTION is getting some support on the rest of the boards. I know we all want to focus on Narconon, and it would fit into that theme. I want to focus on one front group at a time, to prevent confusion. Should we put this up to a vote?

I think we should stick with the hive-mind's voted-on date of the 16th, as a show of solidarity. That doesn't stop us from doing things on other dates, however.
