Protest while pregnant? What are your thoughts?

I have a friend who is interested in joining our protests but I'm hesitant to have her come because she is pregnant. The closest one to us is in Chicago and they have been very good natured and pleasant, but I still worry that certain Scifags might single her out once she is showing or cause her harm.

I worry that it'll be easy for them to tail her since pregnancy isn't easily disguised once the woman is showing. I also worry that a Scifag might think to bully her or harm her because of her condition. She thinks I'm being overly protective but as a close friend I can't help but worry. She does concede she doesn't know exactly how to disguise herself a bit more once she does start showing, but asked that I petition you all for ideas. She's a bit headstrong so I don't think that I will be able to dissuade her once she makes up her mind on the subject.

So what are your guys thoughts on the subject? Anyone have any ideas on how she might diguise herself better once she does start showing?

Hard to say, this all depends on police presence at your protest location.

If you rarely have a police escort (or whatever) I'd recommend CALLING THEM!

Option:
Say you have a peaceful protest planned but you have a pregnant woman attending and you are afraid of violence from the target of your protests.

This all depends on the history in your location, try to contact your local cell for more relevant advice.

I think everyone should have a right to protest, and if she feels like she really wants to help, I for one wouldn't stop her. But I would follow the protips above to maximize protection, and have a planned escape route for when she leaves.

Also consider her condition by making sure there is plenty of water, warm clothes (if your location is in cold weather, still possible in the summer), and a place for her to sit down or lay low so that she doesn't overexert herself.

Bad idea if she's showing. She'll be easier to identify as others have already pointed out, and depending on the location and its history, she could put the baby in danger. After all, Scilons worldwide are beginning to show consistent signs of erratic and increasingly violent behavior: It only takes one solid blow to her stomach to do some potentially catastrophic damage to her child.

Tell her that there's other ways she can help that won't endanger her or the baby until she's had the kid: flier raids at bookstores, for instance. Imagine all the fliers and YFTCs you could stash in a maternity bag!

If she's not showing yet, then she's fine to go to a protest if she's up to it, but after she's showing, it's probably safer overall for her to switch from protesting to flier raiding and other behind-the-scenes efforts. Loose, baggy clothing can only hide so much after all.

I'd be more concerned with some Scientologist close to EOC choosing the baby as its next meat body.

And also, they do target the vulnerable, usually when nobody is looking. I would not do it. Especially with the scilons getting more and more enturbulated and out of control.
A raid is no place for a baby.

If she is insistent on going and does show up, be sure to stay near her at all times in the event of scion violence, and maybe bring some other friends for back-up. As for leaving, you'll need to be extremely careful with making sure you aren't being tailed. I'd reccomend leaving a car somewhere, and then taking an extremely convoluted path by bus that would give away a tail instantly.

Listen Chicago has a pretty Anon friendly police force
and our Handlers are pretty weak ( threatening to use necromancy on them to give them leprosy makes them flee)

These two posters have very valid opinions. Also, pregnancy is stressful enough for a body even at rest. Safety first for her and her unborn baby.

Certainly not if she's at the stage where one has to pee all the time. It would be very awkward and would isolate her if she had to make a lot of rest breaks.

It's my perception that Chicago protests have been quite safe the last few months. The only blip on the radar has been our local Spy Guy, but he now seems to be staying a fair distance away instead of trying to actively stir us up. He didn't even bother to make it out to the Chicago regional, so there's a chance he won't be there anyway. I also haven't heard of anyone here feeling they may have been followed for a long time.

I don't think your friend would be in any particular danger, but you never really know, so I don't think I could recommend that she come with either. If she does insist on coming, let us know so we can help escort her to and from her transportation and that sort of thing.
