Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread
I've made this plea before, and I'm making it again now in hopes I will be heard.
Ahem - I am Retarded! Can someone please help me figure out this strange alien intellect which you call "IRC."
Seriously, I've dowloaded the software - the mIRC recommended in a SoCal email - and I thought I had done all the steps involved to make it work. Whatever the hell I'm doing wrong now, the message I keep getting is "Unable to connect to server (Software caused connection abort)". Can someone help walk this old man through the Wonderland that is the Intertubes?
All right - enough of that.
Tory, you sexy, brilliant woman, you. I read somewhere else about the evening Protest idea and almost wept with joy at the thought. On top of that I also wondered if it would be possible to either start at Hollywood Blvd and then go to Big Blue, or find another location just as important as Big Blue instead. Hollywood Blvd was incredible this Saturday, in spite of the heat. I got a chance to talk to so many people who had no idea what we were doing, what was going down with Scientology and why we all seemed so freakin' happy.
As far as "dress code" I think it's important that if there is going to be some sort of "uniformity" it should not only be comfortable, it should be made clear that it is optional. Protecting one's identity (masks or not) is one thing, but the more options we have to cater to personal comfort, the better for all involved.
Personally, I think I might go ahead and go with a "Lawrence of Arabia/Rudolph Valentino" look. You know, long billowy robe, light airy garments, stirring melodramatic music and a striking pose....
Is anyone else getting turned on?
EDIT* Also, I think there's some confusion at times about the word "shrine." There's the Shrine Auditorium, where the LRH Birthday thing was and where the Dianetics Anniversay Celebration is going to be - and then there's the LRH Museum which is often called a "Shrine" to Hubbard. Please be clear which one you are talking about when you make suggestions about locations.
