Is alt.religion.scientology being killed?

I was trying to read posts on Google groups alt.religion.scientology and I get tons of "deleted" content instead of posts.

This is a valuable archive of OG stand against Scientology's fraud. It should be protected. Scientology would love a.r.s. to cease to exist as it is an archive of its crimes.

Does anyone in Enturb have the mad tech skillz to see exactly what is going on and save the OG archive??

I've been messing around over there, and everything I've posted has eventually shown up. The stuff isn't really deleted, it's all still there---there's just a glitch that keeps kicking you out.

Complain to google groups, and use the index page as the url (mandatory url field in complaint form). It just seems like thetans in the server or something. All my new posts are there.

To be a little more specific, complain here:

and use this url in the url field on the form:

Discussions - alt.religion.scientology | Google Groups

It's working OK for me?

Use a news reader other than google groups and it should work OK.

Nope, tried that, didn't work.

I got in earlier, even posted a few threads that showed up hours later, but no dice. Google Groups be broken.

It's possible to delete googlegroup postings, but leave the newsgroup postings alone. Consider googlegroups a news reader.

However, someone would have to be REALLY skilled to wipe out that massive collection of posts in a short amount of time. THAT would be a display of OT powers, if someone did it manually.

GoogleGroups is messed though, no idea why.

It appears that Google either has a glitch going, is under attack, or perhaps even frozen. It also appears pay servers and any server that doesn't rely on Google servers are fine. As noted, in case others aren't aware, Google Groups are not Usenet itself, but In February 2001, Google acquired Deja News the archive and search engine.

I don't like jumping to conclusions, but I smell injunction or money is in play.

I believe this to be an Epic boot up into the international spotlight.

Mark's account goes down on the day the world knows that video is coming out, same video is embedded in mainstream media news stories.

I'm not saying nothing, no guesses on the real situation from Google. But whatever is it if it ain't a glitch, it's big and it's gonna FLAP.

So it does look like Scientology is once again smashing free speech on the internet.

The methods that I know, the manual way, is automated. And it would likely attract a LOT of attention. It's also quite illegal at that scale. Still, I have no idea what the real reason is.

My techie skills are pretty low level, unfortunately so I can't do much about this myself.

None of us over on ARS believe so. I've been spot checking my server back to 2004 and don't find anything unusual going on, but servers do handle cancels in their own manner. Just because it's on mine, doesn't mean it didn't get canceled on another. Others can spot check their servers.

This does appear to be localized at Google Groups.

If anyone here is trying to get to ARS, your ISP may have news server access for free. Check your ISP support page, there will also be instructions on how to set up Outlook\Express or find another newsreader and configure it with the same instructions.
