Amsterdam protest blocked by youth for human rights

Scientology staged an anti-protest again. This time JVRM (Youth For Human Rights).

The city government hasn't contacted us about this, so when the early team arrived we had a talk at the police department.
Police claim city govt. sent us a mail two weeks ago.
Because it's weekend city government can't be contacted. We can't find when they sent out their claim for a protest. We do know we posted ours even before march 15.
The city will hear about it!

this is exactly why we need to expose this group immediately... in court or better.

as soon as we can do that, I'm sure the rest of their frontgroups will at least suffer and be unable to interfere...

How many people did they have last time, like three? It's ridiculous, I really hope this is going to be pushed. So much for having no problems with people protesting peacefully.

What if anons are spaced 2 meters apart, then you could argue its not a group protesting, it is several individuals exercising free speech adjacent to one another.

Clearly they're just trying to throw you off, but they can't claim to be doing something everywhere, every day. If they block you, head off a couple blocks to another street. Or just come back the next day and catch them with their pants down.

I know it sucks that you have to race to call "Shotgun" just to join in with everybody else, but if you back down every time Scientology pulls this, they're going to keep doing it. If you just adapt and ruin their fun, they'll probably stop bothering to do it.

anyway, I would suggest having as active a correspondence as you can with whichever officials are involved and let them know about JVRM being a scilon group, and that they are literally only doing anything those days to stop you doing it there.
they may be sympathetic and help, or it may be that the CoS has been manipulating the system a bit and haven't been found out yet.

Played right you can turn this into a very tasty WIN.

Ensure that the media know, and make sure to focus on the the fact that whilst both groups are raising awareness of Human Rights abuse, you're concern, ironically, is with the large number of abuses being carried out by Co$ themselves. (then list some of them.)

Let them know the facts about the dates the protests were announced etc. but don't make this your main message. This is a great story for Dutch media to latch onto, because it gives them an angle with which to report a protest they probably wouldn't otherwise cover. "People protesting the Church of Scientology Centre today, were surprised to find...etc."

This is a great opportunity to get your message out, find the best unedited footage of the day ready to forward to them (rapidshare's good), and get your best speaking Anons to start contacting Dutch media. Phone their news/tips desks (TV national and local first, then newspapers). Because of the way Sunday papers get put together, you're chances of making them aren't that great, but there's a very good chance of TV News running it, if they have the story together with decent footage.

Amsterdam can join us Philly Anons...our protest today was blocked by a COS counter-protest as well...we're protesting tomorrow! AMSTERDAM SHOULD JOIN US IN PROTESTING ON SUNDAY FOR GRAET JUSTICE!!

Here's what's even better:
They were actually passing out flyers AGAINST US, in which they claim that Karin Spaink, an outspoken anti-Scientology, is a "Queen of the Night" and that she was, according to the Daily Telegraph "a suicide guru". If you look it up you'll see that she was supposedly the leader of a suicide group that doesn't even exist and that it is all based on speculation.

Also, we are all funded by the pharmaceutical industry. When a newsreporter asked me for a comment on this, I chuckled and said that if that was true, the industry still owes me a lot of money because I haven't seen anything about it.

In short, lulz were had.

The protest today was ok, but there were not as many ppl as before.
We were at a different location, a few streets from CoS :(

Even though we were forced to move to a different location I still feel it was win.
We went to a very busy square and passed out tonnes of flyers, I brought 400 flyers and they were all gone in sligthly over 2 hours.

The reporter who brought us scientology's anti-anon flyer said he was in the cos building and told us tthat the scieno's were litteraly shaking (he said; "ze stonden flink te trillen in dat gebouw")
