Fairgame:Stop and Encyclopedia Dramatica

Hello Enturbulators.

Recently there have been a number (4+) articles created on the noble Encyclopedia Dramatica regarding Operation FairGame:Stop that have ranged from an explanation of the privatedicks.org website, and some of the initial ideas of the "Operation", to a number of pages that simply contained various single videos (and not particularly good ones) - one of which was announcing that the "Operation" was a campaign that would run over many months and was mainly about protesting at the premier of a new Tom Cruise movie entitled 'Tropic Thunder' (?wtf?)

Plz understand, that the cataloging of Chanology on ED is something that requires both logical organizing and decent quality content. So creating a variety of pages that simply promote your own ideas/agenda/videos is doing very little other than annoy and confuse people.

I realize that the "Operation" for May entitled "Operation FairGame:Stop" has only just popped out of the "mommy hole" of the hivemind. But i would encourage enturbulators to develop it fully through discussion and debate here - collecting information and resources here. In order to create a well developed "plan of action", and a detailed "outline and objectives".

Up to this point 3 out of the 4 articles posted have done nothing useful at all.
An article that was posted recently made a very decent start when the "fair game" idea was in its infancy - and would be a good resource to start more discussion on enturbulation

To assist the honorable ED and Chanology, i would ask for Operation FairGame:Stop to be rigorously developed and the majority of the details to be decided upon by the Hivemind before various different manner of faeces are disposed of onto ED, in various location which make no organizational sense. Such activities that have been previously outlined mostly just reflect badly on both Project Chanology and more importantly Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Once May's "Operation FairGame:Stop" has been properly developed, then it is time to post the details to ED, and not before. Creating a page simply to promote your own "vision" (or more accurately whore your own crappy video) is simply something that the individuals should be embarrassed about.

Project Chanology's previous "Operation" projects have been a marked success and been executed very professionally - in both the quality of your words and "instructions" and in the videos, flyers and websites produced. May's Operation should be no different.

AFAIK the partyvan wiki has been lost (it may have been resurrected at the time of writing). Plz understand that ED and partyvan are different wiki environments. Post an article only when a substantial page for the May Operation has been developed. --- further discussion can of course be conducted on the Talk Page - but it does seem that most discussion of the topic is best suited on enturbulation.

A sticky for the full (and quick) discussion of the detailed information, tactics, graphics, flyers, websites etc would be the best way to proceed if Chanologists wish the May Operation to proceed as slickly and with as much professional presentation as the previous "Operations". Though of course this is up to enturbulation staff, but it seems like a logical idea (forgive me if this already exists - I am not an "all seeing eye")

TL;DR

Random Anons posting Random articles in random places on ED does various things, annoys ED admins, makes the "Operation" look amateurish and badly planned (which i am confident it wont be) - and is (in most cases) fairly obviously just some random anons whoring out their own ideas using ED to try and gain some validity (ED is not your personal PR machine) rather than genuine output from the Hivemind.

Anons report in to enturbulation and elsewhere.
Discuss and plan (in detail) the methods and madness that you plan for May.
Post Operation details to ED only when the various elements are more fully developed. thx

Even if there are various different things going on because of some split personality developing within the hivemind
[in my opinion not the greatest thing to happen to the project - i recommend some auditing to help with the problem]
plz morph the various activities back into one article and post them all into the entry linked above.

I had a quick search on youtube and found the video below from one of the more visible Anon youtube channels.

It looks good and even has an accompanying website. This is probably a good starting point together with the early ideas mentioned previously that were posted here which are worth copypasting into the thread dedicated to fully developing and discussing the May Operation.

lewl.... drama. post whatever you have to the article above. and it can get moved to whatever the fuck you decide its going to be called. ie. dont post another article just /r/ that it gets moved to a new name. from looking into the 10th May forum there is probably enough drama and confusion to generate its own article about wtf is happening in May. so much for "we stand as one".

Battletoad Earth - Operation: FairGameStop is being worked on a we speak. I think people are getting a pretty clear idea of the theme of Fair Game and of the style of the protest event itself. Should be a lot of fun.

You have to look in May 10 folder for the thread on the composite name. It's had a lot of support.

I think I'll move that thread to "activism" for a while for a bit of a holiday and a road-trip, ensure it gets seen by people.

I think it works out as the smoothest idea, but it needs to be seen before everyone can be sure it's the one we're running with.

Mega - yeah, it's getting all convoluted. The theme remains tho - which is Fair Game, and really, as long as the PR and pressfags are on the same page and hammer home a sharp message (like they did with Reconnect) the name could be just about anything I reckon.

As one of the many who will write about it, I have to tell you that I don't worry so much about what y'all call it because I don't want to use the words "operation" or "raid". The words can be, themselves, a distraction and the goal is to educate the reader. So all I use is the theme- Fair Game in this case- what the practice is, and why it is protested.
