Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
I really wish that these "Anonymous" members who were interviewed would refute claims like "Wearing masks to intimidate" more fervently. I didn't hear the term "Fair Game" mentioned once in that whole interview and that is the quickest and most efefctive way to shut down that silly lawyers argument. Also, I would ask directly what the hell downloading music has to do with protesting the Church of Scientology. Does him being a convicted felon for such a flimsy cause somehow eliminate the vailidity of his message?
Absolutely not. People, please stay on message in these interviews. These are chances to get the message about Scientology out. Please try to refute these paper-thin arguments against us when ever possible.

Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
I thought the host handled that pretty well, actually. And I liked it when she said, "True" after Gregg called them notoriously litigious. She circled back on the lawyer when he quibbled a bit about why they wore the masks, and made him admit, basically, that there was a history of lots of litigation.
The only truly cringe-worthy thing I saw was when she asked Gregg if he was going "back into the church" and he said no he wasn't going "back in". He never WENT in, so how can he go "back"? I know he was kind of parroting her phrasing, but he needed to stop her right there, at that word. I personally would've interposed "to protect ourselves" every time he said, "to intimidate". But they're young people, and not accustomed to appearing on camera in a studio, etc. All in all, I thought they did a fine job, and the lawyer came off like a jerk. The host never did get a clear answer about what precisely they did that he would consider illegal. He never clarified that there were, in fact, any "services" going on, and I would've asked what sort of services -- the provision of auditing services, which should take place in a private office, which none of them ever entered. And I might have pointed out that the traditional use of the word "services" in the context of a "church" or a "religion" would mean a large assembly of worshippers engaged in acts of worship, rather than a one-on-one appointment behind closed doors. I fail to see how someone entering the lobby, masked or no, and simply handing someone a brochure then departing could be construed as harassment or trespassing in a public building open to passersby on the street. Ah well... As you can tell, I think too much, write too much, and am overly verbal altogether. On the other hand, I give a really mean interview and am quick on my feet that way. |

Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
That lawyer is your typical "speaking for the greenback" piece of shit that the Scientology Organization has had at its beck and call since day one. This is the mudracking that they excel at. Hell, he even bought up Gregg's past "crimes", just like a good puppet for the CoS should.
The part of "interrupting services" is totally laughable - interrupting taking parishioners money would have been more apt. You're still a fucking joke, Organization of Scientology. You could pull us all into court on bullshit charges & it won't even slow us down. We're still coming.

I'm sorry guys, it was a great interview, but the entire time I was waiting for you to jump in an basically kick that guys legal ass (OH NOES THEY'RE HARASSING ME!!!!!11!!). His arguments fucking sucked. He was taking you off target, something both lawyers and scientologists are great at, and you let him. I don't care what it takes, but do a fucking barrel roll around his flimsy arguments and leave him sitting in the dust.

I think the ANONS and the interviewer did a great job.
I think the interviewer made a great comment when the laywer brought up Gregg's past! Tom you also should have much caek and internets for your bravery, you didn't have to come out and speak for Gregg but you did! Great job! Gregg, I wish you luck and I thank you for going on this show to help spread the word about fair gaming and what is going on with you, Great job |

Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
I thought they both did pretty damn good. They were well spoken & not fanatical or tinfoilhatting. They did cover fair game, even if it was not mentioned by name. It's good to provide info for future interviews, but remember that it is easy to criticise when you aren't the one on the spot.
Best of luck Gregg! This bullshit won't stand up in court if there is any justice let in this country.

I felt their lawyer was pretty weak. If thats his argument they are going to be fine. Wear masks to intimidate seems to be the core of his argument. He is going to fail bigtime.

Worth watching.
Next time that lawyer brings up your past conviction, shout 'Objection your honor!' and then say 'Prior bad acts' in a conversational tone. |

Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
I also thought the Anons did a good job. While I agree that the concept and the practice of Fair Game should have been emphasized more, not using the term "Fair Game" I thought was a good thing. Mainly because Scientologist's and their affiliates tend to counter it by claiming that the policy was eliminated. Then time is wasted explaining that it was only the term "Fair Game" that was canceled not its actual practice --which can be a hard concept to grasp for the TV audience in such a short amount of time.
Anyway, great work. |

Re: Gregg, Anon "Tom", Sci lawyer on WGBH Boston
I think Gregg and Tom did an amazing job of keeping their cool and remaining calm and articulate through the whole thing. The fact that they *didn't* jump up and down about what the Scio laywer was saying speaks volumes about their integrity - people who tend to shout and try to debate laywers in these instances tend to fall right into the lawyers hands. Then the laywer could say "See, they're deranged violent people and religious bigots" etc, etc, ad nauseum. Keeping their cool the way they did, speaking calmly and intelligently like that was the best possible thing to have done. The laywer was left to repeat himself because Gregg and Tom didn't react the way he wanted - with outrage or defensiveness. The lads looked confident and intelligent, and the way the laywer brought up Gregg's past conviction was obviously an attempt to get that desired reaction - which FAILED EPICALLY not only due to Gregg's non-reaction (good going, dude!) but also the great way the hostess basically told him to STFU at it's lack of relevancy.
I really hope the case goes well for you, Gregg. We're thinking of you.

God that lawyer for the CoS was a complete tool.
He initially said that they wore scarves when they went into the cult. Then every time thereafter, he said they were wearing masks. I hope he gets audited by the IRS when the cult starts to sink. |

The lady seemed very sympathetic to Anon- I think it's worth some emails/calls to thank her, or asking for more-like-this. It would be good to have her onboard.
