Scientologist assaults peaceful protester, Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen, Denmark. A peaceful protester from the internet-group Anonymous was today, April 19th, attacked by a Scientologist. While informing the public about the dangers of Scientology, near one of Scientologys "Stress Test" booths, the member was approached by a Scientologist. The scientologist tried to take his picture, but the member did not want his picture taken, and shielded himself with his fliers. The Scientologist, spokesperson for the Church of Scientology Denmark Annette Refstrup, in an effort to remove the offending arm, physically assaulted our member. This was in an extremely crowded walking street at 1:30pm on a saturday, the height of shopping time, and there were numerous shocked witnesses.

Anonymous is a loose coupling of internet users, who have banded together in order to inform the public about the dangers of Scientology. Anonymous cannot easily be classified, as we are everyone and anyone from grannies to computer geeks. Anonymous fights against the injustices commited in the organization Scientology, not what the members choose to believe in. On the contrary, Anonymous feels our most important right is the right to free speech, and thereby the right to believe in whatever religion one might wish to believe in.

Scientology is the so-called religion founded by L. Ron Hubbard in 1952. The basic building block of Scientology is Dianetics, a book hailed by Scientology as "The Modern Science of Mental Health", but to date this claim has not been corroborated in any way by independent scientific testing. Indeed, existing knowledge contradicts the claims found in the book, among others that Dianetics can cure nearly any illness. While Scientology claims to be a religion, no other religion has an intelligence-agency the likes of CIA or KGB. In 1979, 11 Scientologists was convicted of infiltrating the US government. This case, known as "Operation Snow White", also unveiled Scientologys efforts to falsely accuse the writer Paulette Cooper of sending bomb threats. She wrote the first book negative toward Scientology, "The Scandal of Scientology."

you say shocked witnesses, so presumably it was violent, or at least appeared so. were these anons, or the public?

Yes, unfortunately. It has been registered with the police, however.

The member was approached later by shocked onlookers, who asked what happened. 100% non-anons.

Yes to what? Was it just pushing or pulling on his arm to expose him, or did she actually hit at him? In either case, file charges.

I don't think we should overblow this whole "They touched me, assault!" kinda thing. It makes us seem silly, unless if it was violent, or course.

However, it's a huge pr downstat for them. Every time they lash out pettily, people will see it. Good job Anon.

Wasn't like that. It was a deliberate grabbing-of-the-arm to get it away. violent, but without injury and such, other than the emotional trauma. What if this had been an empty street at night? What would she have done then?

They will not hesitate to call assault on us when THEY bump into an Anon.

I'm not saying bull-bait them, but if they make physical contact, especially in an effort to prevent our freedom of assembly or right to preserve identity, PRESS CHARGES.

Don't be frivolous or vexatious, though we may think they deserve anything they get in that regard. Just call foul play if they manhandle you, and not merely do something unintentional.

that's a typical behaviour for spokespersons in any religion or company, why bother?
i'm still surprised what scientologists do in their fight for freedom, brave people they got there to protect them from leaflet distributing terrorists.

Denmark is (unfortunately) not the US and a little arm-rustling is not enough to press charges. A police report have however been filed, in case of any future incidents.

Hmmm ... I think filing with police would be appropriate, after all, that's how the Scis do it, and turnabout is fair play.

However to me it doesn't sound like the individual was beaten to a pulp or anything and I wouldn't run to the press with it. It's good fodder for the Internet, though.

I expect this sort of thing is going to start becoming rather common, but getting attacked isn't the end of the world. At least the Scis don't wade in with shields and truncheons like what happens to alot of other protestors.

Oh yeah, and that woman looks like an unctuous bitch, exactly the type to think she has some sort of right to use force to snap a photo of a private citizen. These Scis sure do have a problem with entitlement.

If there is a collection of these somewhere, AKA more than 4, I will forward all relevant story info (in foreign language or not) to the news desks at CNN and NBC.

Um, this woman would have our protester IN JAIL if this was reversed. We would all be mortified, and would probably be screaming at how stupid he would be to put his hands on this woman.
