Brightonfags at the (failed) Co$ bookathon.
Well, I got there late, but NarCONon and two others were hard at work outside the Brighton Co$. But because it was raining, the Scifags had no stools or products out. They watched us for a while through the windows, and sent out the occasional volunteers with clipboards and some forms to try and recruit some people to go indoors and look at their books and stress test stuff. They got two or three people to go indoors, and two bought a copy of Dianetics. One anon managed to get one of the guys to read some of our flyers afterwards, and he looked at the book, then at the flyers, and said he'd read the book with our warnings in mind, and make a decision based on that overall, which is fair enough.
Then we had the occasional chavs laughing (or screaming when they saw our masks) at us, some elderly women glared, and some people talked in loud voices about how ridiculous it all is, but we gave out quite a lot of flyers and attracted more attention than the Scifags, in any case.
Plus, some Scifags (we assume it was them) made a fake call to the Police saying that we were being aggressive, but fortunately two Policemen had been watching us from time to time and they could see that we were peaceful, so he said he'd leave it be, which was pretty good.
We packed up at 4 and went for a drink, and as some of us walked back through town the Scifags were nowhere to be seen.
So yeah. I guess that's a win for Anonymous.
