Re: FAIL! What your raid did wrong on April 12
Vancouver, Canada here....
I'd say that the downstat was a disappointment for April 12, however we did distribute ALL of our flyers. That being said:
* More flyers needed, with more variety focusing on different matters
* Fail on bigoted people. We had a few people condemning the religion too which scared away a lost of public and incited some hatred for intolerance
* Singular yelling. We had a few people shouting out lengthy opinions to cars stopped at the light or people walking by... Made us look a little nutters. We must use our inside Outside voice!
* Coverage: Fairly good, the only people who walked by without a flyer or pamphlet either denied one or was a Scilon. We covered 3 of 4 corners very well, however that last one could've used around 5-10 more people. This ties in with needing more people.
* Stamina: People were running out of steam despite cookies and water. A good solution (really helped!) that was developed from a miniraid we held was small groups would go to a local Starbucks and sit down, eat some real food, use the washrooms. If people paid in advance, the groups could do some runs with the food.
* Signage: We had some kick ass signs! But not enough, and some could be set-up/propped up on their owns if people got tired / cold hands
* Dancing: Yeah I was a part of it. Dancing, while fun, caused a large WTF factor with passer-bys. Limit dancing to camcorders to annoy Scilons GIVEN that there is someone else to explain what the hell we are doing and divie out some flyers.
* Memes: We had a low meme count, but one sign said "Sage fair game"... The general public doesn't know about Saging ;)
* Acidic behaviour to Scilons: Despite them as the target, they view us as haters to their religion. The attitude doesn't help.
Thats all I can sum it.
