***ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EXTRA LULZ***
I just went out and bought a copy:
- We have a rather large chunk of the front page, as well as the ENTIRE front page of the "extra" part of the paper.
- There's a massive picture. Picture, yay!
- The introduction on the front page is essential as well - here's a quick translation:
Quote:
"Top criminal" suspected of liquidations in Amsterdam underworld
"Jesse murders for world peace"
> Scientology teachings said to have been inspiration
> R. himself claims to aspire to world peace
AMSTERDAM - Today he stands before a judge for the first time: Jesse R. (39), seen by the justice department as one of the top criminals in the Netherlands. He shot and killed countless people, is the allegation. According to crown witness Peter la S., a friend of his, R. killed people for payment in order to save the world. His belief in Scientology is an important source of inspiration.
R. is the main suspect in a large liquidation case the OM [central court advisory organ] plans to bring to court this fall. The case revolves around a series of murders in the Amsterdam underworld, which the OM aims to solve with the help of La S. Fourteen suspects have been arrested with his help. [Only] a procedural session was held today.
According to witnesses, R. has no conscience. "Jesse is someone who first just kinda kills someone and then kinda goes to eat some fries", one of them told the police.
According to the church of Scientology, being associated with R. is a publicity nightmare. Spokeswoman Julia Rijnvis says he was not a member of the church, and [that he] interpreted the teachings the wrong way. She regrets the fact that Scientology is "dragged in forcibly" [lit. "by the hairs"] by the media.
Rijnvis: "We do everything to keep criminals on the right path, with success. In Mexico, Indonesia, the United States and Israel entire prisons cooperate with L. Ron Hubbard's rehabilitation program, called Criminon."
Evidence from the Chamber of Commerce indicates that, from August to December 2004 and from September to October 2005, R. was the executive president of the Criminon Foundation Netherlands.
When the church discovered in 2005 that R. was in prison, he had to cease his activities, because crime conflicts with Scientology. At the time, Rijnvis approached R.'s executive partner and girlfriend Francis K., and eventually spoke with the future crown witness La S., who lived with K.
"From this conversation, it became evident that the association between Criminon and the Scientology was unwanted. Because of this, Jesse changed it to the Nofelon Foundation," La S. told the police. This new foundation is not related to the church.
Rijnvis claims people who want to take part in Scientology's programmes are screened. R. has possibly "not been detected by us on time".

From there, it cuts to the front page of the second part of the paper, which is quoted in this thread's first post.
