That's what got me, too. The idea that they aren't even teaching those kids basic things about their own bodies, let alone allowing them a chance at any sort of real childhood, just boils my blood. For whatever reason, that's what put me over the edge.
Kids are new people, they don't know anything about life, and it's already far too easy to make their lives difficult even under the best of circumstances. The things the cult does, and fails to do, to children are enough to make me want to tear street signs out of the pavement and go 1.1 on some thetans.
