Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
I’m not sure if this exists already but I’d love there to be a “lulz-speek”-free wikipedia-esque database about Scientology, preferably very similar to (the authority and useability of) wikipedia.
If I were in charge I’d allow editing only be people with 100 posts of more on Enturbulation to hopefully vet the Scilon infiltrators (who would hopefully also be easy to spot and contain even if they got in a position to be able to edit the wiki) A really comprehensive and thoroughly cross-referenced guide to Co$ is something I’d find very useful and something which I’d happily work on for a few hours each week. In my mind widespread access to information on Co$ and the encouragement to find that information is what will bring down this harmful cult. |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
There's one object that spies usually carry - a camera. Now, not everyone can afford or choose to carry a real camera...
So how about cardboard models? A simple fold-along-the-dotted-lines model that can be quickly printed off onto cardboard and distributed on the day to everyone and worn on a bit of string or lanyard around the neck. Maybe use black card or silver foil/paint to add a realistic look. Modern compact digital cameras can take many shapes and sizes. Apart from being a prop, it might also make some Scis a little more wary about bullbaiting etc. when they don't know for sure who's carrying a real camera and who isn't (or think everyone is). And if an incident does occur - everyone in range could surround the scene then hold up their "camera" and pretend to be taking photos. A subtle way of saying "We see what you're doing and we're taking notes". Might help defuse a situation a little faster - and nobody would really know who is and who isn't really taking pics. Hiding a tree in a forest, that sort of thing. Some could even be modified to be businesscard/leaflet holders. Alternatively, lots and lots of cheap disposable cameras. Good or stupid idea? |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
I like the idea of everyone nearby being able to hold up cameras (real or fake) if a $cilon tries something.
I can just imagine some poor guy trying to bullbait us then suddenly staring into a dozen camera lenses. I imagine it'd be pretty discouraging. :P

opthetxvi:
single use cameras are quite cheap (they dont cost much more than a film: main reason being once you get it developed they repackage it with a new film in and sell it again) |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
Euh, I have a question: is it still a good idea to "spread the word" of what anon is trying to accomplish? Even if they are gamers.
Because a new version of a game came out, I joined a server and the game started downloading skins. So I thought: What if you put the date and place or just some links (or both) on a skin, find someone to upload it and then drive around with it? Good Idea or bad idea? |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
AnonymousDC has been pushing this for a while. when we talk to the public there are many who want to take some action. if we presented the proper addresses with the flier (a flier not just describing the problem, (CoS) but proposing a solution) we could get a LOT of cards and letters to elected officials.

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
This my first post, so bear with me.
I read yesterday that Scilons have initiated 2500 lawsuits against the IRS alone. Is there any way to determine the total number of lawsuits filed by Cof$, against everyone? Since the launch of Dianetics, there have been about 21250 days. If Sci has launched that many lawsuits, what a PR piece A lawsuit a day, the Scientology way. It could be one more nail in their coffin. Also, has anyone pointed out that Cof$ has children signing legal documents? IE, a billion year SO contract |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
ok, how about the more lurid stunts... chaining to public buildings holding a sign, dropping banners from buildings, pulling (harmless) stunts publicly, actually getting arrested doing these things to bring the news crews and the public eye to bear on this fight?

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
would it be wrong to accidentally or purposefully to print out a sign that says, "this church is closed" or "this church moved to (a different location or gay bar)?" and then continue to post signs on doors to said place, then to do it periodically?

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
Just as wrong as going to the local Post Office and getting some "change of address" cards, and filling them out...

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
A quick idea:
Would there be lulz in setting up a "fake" stress table? Making up signs for an "un-stress" test? Make up a quick, 10 question test, using a "did you know that" format, pertaining to scilon subjects (such as "did you know that the Co$ has a special agreement with the IRS", or "did you know that some members of Co$ sign a billion-year contract" or "did you know that scientologists believe all human suffering can be traced to an alien named Zenu")? After they've answered the questions, tell them the "good/bad" news: Good news: They now know too much to be accepted by scientology, and they've started on their journey across "The Bridge to Total Lulz". Bad news: Thousands of people have paid thousands of dollars to get the info they just got, and are trapped in an abusive cult. Let them keep the test paper/flyer. Put web addresses or references to the questions on it, too.

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
like the boondock saints, "you guys should recruit!" henceforth, if you want extra reinforcements go to a college campus, anyone, usually every program that has a BA degree needs a Psychology class and I'm sure emails to the psychology teachers could rally support for our cause
not only that put up posters (with permission) in hall ways, even pharmacy students might want to help. Even computer clubs or programs (those people that make computers, internet, and networks they're business) would probably want to help, being that they would know something... If there is ever a cause, usually college students would like to help! offer pizza, we love pizza! |

Re: Brainstorm Megathread!
So.... under US copyright law (any lawyers want to weigh in on this) I believe you can hold a work under copyright for 14? years... at which point you refile for a second 14 year period... and thats it for materials published prior to 1976. (After 1976, there are changes to the law which let a copyright be extended alot longer) But, am I not correct that alot of scientology material came out PRIOR to 1976? What exactly, because eventually that stuff will go public domain.
So... the CO$ tends to really hammer on the whole "copyright" issue...... What are the EARLIEST written works of scientology and of hubbard regarding scientology/dianetics? Are alot of these works about to enter the public domain? Can we use this in some way to blunt their spears? Is this why alot of older works are being gathered by the church and destroyed? (among other reasons) It would be great to get ahold of OT training materials which are no longer copyright... |

I heard a rumor (well I read it, in another thread) that the Narconon materials are going to be leaked soon, is this exploitable somehow? Could the Narconon methods violate any laws? I mean FFS, the entire Narconon scam is practicing medicine without a license isn't it? Narconon is a cash cow for the cult, it would be great if the authorities shut it down, they are basically committing fraud, claiming they are qualified when they are not. |
