London Boat Trip - Riverborne protests

Seeing as the planned piracy expedition is running into problems, here's an idea. I'm not sure of the details and whether it's possible, so if anyone more informed could fill in the details, that would be good.

Do travelcards work on the Thames public transport riverboat services?

If so, then what I propose is a day just hanging out on the riverboats. Do it as a mini-raid on a differnt day to the main protest. No need to hire one specifically, just get a travelcard and spend all day on the boats being pirates, and leafleting.

Thoughts?

Yup, the point of the boat on the protest day is lost.

Since they take travelcards, wouldn't it be possible for multiple pirate raids throughout the day? Used as a part of a miniraid day ofcourse.

I will probably take the WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHH!!! boat to the protest from Canary Wharf. If there are more people coming from that direction we might be able to time so we're on one boat?

Added: I have a strong desire to get off at Bankside pier and then get a loooooooong line of Anons to walk across the Millenium Bridge.

Also, Sundance isn't available on the 14th =(

Mini-raid before the 14th on public boats, to raise awareness would be fantastic. Have fun, get the message out, don't pay more than a ticket on the boat, and we don't miss any of the protest on the 14th

Sounds acceptable to mine ears! Or eyes....

How about the 7th then? Since that's when the mini-raids usually be (being a week before the main).
Don't think I'd be able to make it this time round to the mini either due to funds as usual =[
But we'll see...

Possibility to hire a barge, cover it with flyers and go down the canals. On a sunny day there are plenty of people there, and the barge is slow enough we could probably hand out flyers.

Would we need to get in touch with the police about this. It's only flyering and not really a protest but it would suck if they were arsey on the day

You know thinking about this it MIGHT count as a procession (not in the mood to look it up). If that were the case then yes they'll need to know a week in advance and they may impose some conditions.

I like the canal idea- barges are pretty easy to rent out if I remember rightly, and plenty of pubs along it =D
Also, I live quite literally right next to one xD

But Thames would have more effect on the media. If any. As well as on the whole City Hall thing.

I take it as a compliment that Enturb is big enough to attract spambots.

So, a quick jaunt down the Thames on the 7th June on public boats, handing out fliers, dancing and drawing attention to Anon and Sea Arrrgh?
