The Profit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This movie has been banned in the United States. Can Anons in other countries, however, get their hands on this? Maybe some Brits, Canadians, Aussies, etc?

Furthermore, is there a way I, as a U.S. Anon, personally get my hands on it? I have a few personal contacts in Great Britain, Canada, and Australia - can one of them get a copy, and send it to me as a gift?

Sadly it is not for sale. However if you want to see it, you probably can find a copy or two floating around on one of the bittorrent networks like Mininova : The ultimate BitTorrent source! if you do a search.

It isn't banned. It was just never released. For two reasons, the first being that the CoS played shenanigans and got some control over it, and the second being that it is a steaming pile of poo.

Op you missed it.. We had a joyous weekend when The Profitt was leaked and WBM had it hosted on a site where you could be in a chat while movie was playing.. many lulz were had.

Honestly, "The Profit" is terrible. It might be MST3K worthy, but I'm not completely sure.

Sadly, I had to work that weekend so I missed the chance.

For mentioning MST3K, I hereby proclaim you "Anonymous Poster of the Week."

And "The Profit" was kind of sucky. I say we band together and make our OWN film based on the hokiness that was L Ron Hubbard. We could film it in an avant garde kind of way - in a warehouse, maybe, with minimalistic sets - and in the traditional Greek Theatre kind of way - with Masks!

Do it dragnet style: "the story you are about to see is true, only the names have been changed to protect our asses, for example L Ron Hubbard is now called..."

I think the movie was meant to be crappy (as a means of avoiding... *eh hmm* much notice). :p And having seen the film, it's probably exactly what was going through L. Ron's head during some points.

In any case, another movie you might want to google is "The Bridge".

The Profit is basically what broke The Bob Minton. He funded it and it all just went to shit for him. The Scifags just ground him down and basically forced him into a corner...he settled with CoS and has been incognito ever since.
Makes me both sad and angry when I think about it. If only Anonymous had been around back then....
