Dublin, Ireland
Just back. It was good. We're getting better at this protesting business. More signs, bigger signs, better signs. Some good chanting. This time the scienos hid inside, Gerry's obviously on orders not to talk to us anymore. We must be a bad influence or something. He didn't even want our cake.
I'd say there was about fifty there at the peak. Not as big as last time, but it was absolutely pissing rain all day. Made it hard to hand out fliers. Roll on next month! |

Good job guys.
Internetz all round...especially with the rain all day. It's a shame Gerry didn't want any cake. Ah well... maybe next month. P.S. I dug this article up. I know it's a year and a half old but it reminds us of how the Co$ is struggling to gain credibilty in Ireland :D http://://www.rickross&#...land4.html |

Re: Dublin, Ireland
If you have one or two high quality shots that show the majority of the protesters at your gathering, please send to me so I can include in the next "Road To March 15th" video. I would really prefer, at least 1680 pixels wide, or more. Don't forget to tell me what location the pictures are from!

Re: Dublin, Ireland
We really did do our best , stayed out in pouring rain for 5 hours (some with no umbrellas) chanting and giving out flyers ,walking up and down the road and just chatting to the public.
the chants of : Lisa McPherson ( why are they dead?) Josephus Havenus ( why are they dead?)Shawn Lonsdale ( why are they dead?) etc and "Cult of $cientology ( Show me the money!!!)" That got our point to the public when it was too wet to hand out soggy flyers and got people stopping to watch us as we made lots of noise. We also had some support from an Irish family torn apart by Disconnection called The Phelans who havn't seen their brother in years over Co$. So we promised to try help them and they are bringing their teenage kids to the next protest to join us. A frenchfag in a suit turned up with McDonalds hamburgers for us , which was excellent and another german Anon got off the train after seeing us and joined in.Someone got cake and we sang Happy birthday to Ron . The scifags stayed inside and on the one occasion one emerged ,he was greeted with " Lisa McPherson died in FLAG" . Also Mike Garde and Martin Poulter added lots of credibility to the protests and we are thankful they could make it . We stayed from 11am-4:30 ,and no memes this time:) |

[repost from a.r.s]
My photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1488270...7604131291055/ These are available in highish resolution (1024px wide) if you click on "All sizes" Very short video clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjAsQ2uIeaw More photos: http://eire.calloftheday.com/viewtopic.php?t=70 My conclusions? 1) Scientology in Ireland is weak: They don't have a store front. Their building looks incredibly run down. Not many people were in the org, and those that did didn't come out to talk to us: not even for delicious cake! 2) Anonymous in Ireland are strong. There was an England-Ireland rugby match on at the same time, and a big anti-war protest one block away. It was the start of St. Patrick's Day weekend and people were already starting to celebrate. The weather started off drizzling and gradually became torrential (I hadn't brought an umbrella on the plane, so thanks so much to the people who lent my their umbrellas). Yet despite all this, a strong, loud and inventive protest continued long into the afternoon. Cake and big laughs were had. By the end, we were soaked through and our remaining leaflets turned to papier mache. Public interest and support were good. Some of us met with an ex-Sea Org'er the night before the protest: he wasn't available to attend on the day itself. We asked how to plant a seed of doubt in long-term, dedicated members. One suggestion he made was to highlight that Lisa McPherson *died in Flag*. Given the special status of Flag in Scientology, that little idea creates a lot of dissonance. Hey presto, the Dublin anons made a "Lisa McPherson died in Flag" banner in time for the protest. BTW, another tip he gave was to show them this image: http://impiousdigest.com/old-L-Ron-Hubbard.jpg since it contrasts so much with the way LRH is presented within the cult. Conclusion 3) Dublin is a very pleasant and interesting European capital that would be worth going back to when there's better weather (if ever :) ). The Anons were great doodz and chyx and I could have done with *lots* more time to chat with them about all sorts of things. |

My photos of the day. Despite knocking on the Scifags door I only got a security guard to come down. Which did suck. Chanting was epic!!!! Anonymous is strong and we will win. Roll on April 12th! |
