"Welcome Home" by Dave Dobbyn
tonight I am feeling for you under the state of a strange land you have sacrificed much to be here ‘there but for grace…’ as I offer my hand welcome home, i bid you welcome, i bid you welcome welcome home from the bottom of my heart out here on the edge the empire is fading by the day and the world is so weary in war maybe we’ll find that new way so welcome home, see i made a space for you now welcome home from the bottom of our heart welcome home from the bottom of our hearts keep it coming now - keep it coming now you’ll find most of us here with our hearts wide open keep it coming now - keep on coming now keep it coming now - keep on coming now there’s a woman with her hands trembling - haere mai and she sings with a mountain’s memory - haere mai there’s a cloud the full length of these isles just playing chase with the sun and it’s black and it’s white and it’s wild all the colours are one so welcome home, i bid you welcome, I bid you welcome welcome home from the bottom of our hearts welcome home, see i made a space for you now welcome home from the bottom of our hearts from the bottom of our hearts |

Would rockin' some Woodie Guthrie be a good idea or would it lend credence to the scinos' claims of Anons reading from the book of marx?

"All you need is love"!
It's a great sing-a-long, 'cause it's a golden oldie. It's all about the love[Leaving Scientology? It's easy! All you need is love... Lol, okay, maybe it doesn't fit so well in that respect ], therefore it should go along with Reconnect with all the looooovee, and how can a group of protesters singing "All you need is love" be mistaken for religious bigots/terrorists?

Chumbawamba has lots and lots of songs about resisting authority and being with community, and they almost invariably do it with a sense of humor. They're so serious and yet so fun, rather like Anonymous.
Anyway, a few suggestions. Not specifically Reconnect-related, but general protest/fun-type stuff: "Never Do What You Are Told": Quote:
Might not be good just for the imagery of the bomb, but C'MON we're wearing Guy Fawkes masks fer criminy's sake. And the song isn't about violence, so much as the latent power in each of us. Also, [Jesus H. Christ] for general enjoyment. Many naughty words though, so might not be protest-friendly. |

Freewill by Rush? Upbeat, fun to sing, and check the chorus:
Chorus You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill; I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill. My Psitunes keeps bringing it up. :D |

though it has more religious overtone, i think it'd have quite the power impact in a crowd (especially the 2nd verse). Possibly replacing God with Anon in the lyrics could help it seem less as a christian uprising. |

"Never Gonna Give you Up" of course, as well as OF COURSE Bel-Air and Through the Fire and Flames, but also Long Live the Party by Andrew WK, the Portal song is a little much so I say we leave it out.
Are you Gonna be my Girl by Jet Sympathy for the Devil by the Stones For Those About to Rock by AC/DC Live like a Refugee by Tom Petty (appropriate considering this is Reconnect) Prayer of the Refugee by Rise Against Cult of Personality by Living Colour In the End (Hydroid feat. Santiago Nino Remix) by Ava Mea Woke Up This Morning by A3 or Alabama Three Days go By by Dirty Vegas |

Days Go By by Dirty Vegas.
"Days go by and still I think of you Days when I couldn't live my life without you" Awesome song to dance to as well. Dragonforce - Through the Fire and the Flames, Soldiers of the Wasteland, Fury of the Storm Comedy option. Also, it's fucking dragonforce, dude. Jane's Addiction - Stop The lyrics fit us a bit, I think. Stray Cats - Rock This Town Dancing anons make for a very eye-catching protest. Stray cats makes good music to dance to. Ergo, Stray Cats makes for a very eye-catching protest. The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Obvious. Last edited by HowdoIbakedclam; 04-05-2008 at 01:51 AM. |
