How about

-Your kids need you more than Scientology does.
Or change up kids for 'Your family' etcetc.

The more lighthearted and genuine the signs and posters are, the more the public and Scilons themselves would at least read it.

Remember, we're there to inform and offer cake, not scare or intimidate. ;)

It depends where you're protesting of course, but a lot of us are going places where the general public is going to outnumber Scilons by several thousands to one. It doesn't make sense for all the signs to be obscure Reconnect-related slogans that the average person won't understand.

YES, YES, YES. Remember, everyone, who our "audience" is: the people walking down the street; the people passing by in cars. Please keep the signs simple and easy for passer-by's to understand at a glance! People should completely GET what the protest is all about with a 5-second glance.

I am thinking of at least referencing a site like religious shunning.org on my sign.

This is over-the-top for Reconnect but the idea has been milling around in my mind for a while:

(Or any other image of Charles Manson at his post-arrest nuttiest.)


After all, the persistent rumor is that Manson took 100-150 hours of CoS courseware before abandoning Scientology as a fruitbat faith. It's not rumor that there was an E-meter at the Manson "compound" and court reports state that he used Sci-based mind control techniques to control his "family."

It'd be an aggressive and risky angle to press, though...

agree - i am a perthanon and the local church is likely deserted on most normal days, letalone on protest day when i'm certain they will make sure it is empty of any followers.

in keeping with my last sign (faith = free / scientology = $$$) i am going with

scientology = $300,000 +
