Count me in, while we are in Sunderland is it worth putting a poster up in the local uni. Do we need permission, i don't know the protocol?

Re: Sunderland, UK
You need to ask the university to put up posters usually (It was like that at Newcastle and Northumbria.) Small change of plan - I only have an half hour lunch from the course. and it is might be changed to be Monday, Wednesday-Friday.
again PM me if you are interested so we can arrange meeting place and times. I will be bringing around 100 flyers and printing out another 100 Friday if we run out. |

I'm at Sunderland university as a student there, normally its open season for putting fliers up.
I'm free on tuesday, so i'd be up for doing fliers. Scott or iviv if you read this, join #sunderland some time :) |

Re: Sunderland, UK
Unfortunately as far as i know we don't know anyone disconnected in the local area. I was thinking for the flyer just to mention the policy of disconnection and just keep it simple so joe public can relate.
Anyone gonna print off a sheet for signatures against the Co$?, Sweaty jon has asked for us to collect and send it on. I can do it if there are no takers!!! |

Re: Sunderland, UK
I would, but the area where I live... well, going about asking for signatures would probably end up with me in hospital rather than the protest.

Re: Sunderland, UK
Whoops sorry about the misundestanding. What it involves is on the 12th we ask people to sign the petition during the demonstration, so we can give out flyers and do this at the same time. I will forward the petition sheets to London where they are being collected!

Re: Sunderland, UK
Is it worth putting 2 flyers onto an A4. I thought the flyers we gave out on the 15th there was too much information and they were too big. Anyone any thoughts?, although i'll need a guillotine (someone mentioned they had one in the pub) if i am to make smaller flyers.
Will bring 2 clipboards so we can gather signatures on the street quicker. Scott where and when do you want to meet on Wednesday pm 2 me. |

Re: Sunderland, UK
A5 would do fine, as in print on A4 and chop in half. Printing both sides is workable, maybe different topics on each side. Use headlines, fairly big text, and not too many words.
And have a call for action by the recipient! Write to his/her MP maybe--in this case probably best to refer to a relevant website that would supply the names and addresses. |

Re: Sunderland, UK
Sneaky peek at one of the signs I'll be bringing along for the 12th...
![]() Thought I might make a couple of these and a couple of others (to be revealed!) for those that don't bring any - I know some of you are making your own. Opinions? Have also looked into getting some custom printed balloons made to hand out, probably not for this time as it's too short notice, but maybe for next time. They're crazily expensive in small amounts, as you would expect, but get decently cheap once you have about 1000 made which averages out at about £100. Not too bad I thought, so maybe if we thought it was a good idea we could pass a hat round and put a few pounds in each. Then we'd need a crack team of someone with one of those balloon-blower-upper-thingies and someone else tying them onto those plastic sticks :) |

Re: Sunderland, UK
Spoke to our Police contact today and did my best to persuade him about the mask thing but they're not budging. So it'll be the same as the last two times - no masks - oh well.
Maybe a few letters to them objecting to it in a polite way and pointing to all the other UK protests where they have them might change their minds for next time. They were fine for us to carry on in a similar manner though and will send down a duty officer on the day to talk to us like last time. |

Re: Sunderland, UK
If anyone can bring Speakers on Saturday I have got a song which I think will be a good song to use on the protest. (2. Think For Yourself) Also We will most likely be rick rolling and bell airing if there is speakers...so people please learn the words of the full version of both songs if you want to participate in the lulz.

Re: Sunderland, UK
Hi, I was planning to go to the Manchester protest but due to current illness can't make it but I'll be damned if I'm going to miss a picnic. I should be able to make Sunderland, how close to the Metro is the CO$, from google it looks like the same street.
Will there be rickrolling? I'm sad to say I know the lyrics :D |

Re: Sunderland, UK
Wow this is great we might get more than 15 upstat for us.!!!!
Did anyone see the anon piece in the Sunday Express?. Typical exageration by the Co$, they claim to have 8 million members not true, they claim to have an organisation worth $320 billion. I think think that should be million not billion, still large, but ever decreasing. Will be collecting signatures, hope we can get a few pages to send down to London! Will stick to the shades, or how about a burka lol |

Re: Sunderland, UK
It is Exit Metro station doors, turn right, walk till the building stops - turn right again - and the church is on your right a hundred meters up. On Saturday the anonymous will be across the road from the church in front of the "for let" shop front.
