That is EXACTLY how I picture things.

I know Tory likes to reference "The Truman Show" when talking about her time in Scientology, and I think that movie works well with Scienos or ex-Scienos, but when I explain the system of Scientology to my friends, I have found The Matrix to be the best way to explain things. Didn't Morpheus say something to the effect that "many people do not want to be unplugged" from the Matrix?

Nevermind, I just found it. Swap "scientology" with "the system" spoken of in this video, and now you have my opinion on scientology/scientologists.
