Lulzy idea for L Ron Hubbard Way

It would be lulzy to rename L Ron Hubbard Way. Hivemind consensus seems to be to rename the street back to its original name of Berendo. LA Anons should man the harpoons and contact this number:

Not USAnon so I know jack...but if the signatures came from members of the public (and the proposed name was chosen well) this sounds like it's got real potential.

The Los Angeles City Council votes on a resolution to rename part of Berendo Street to L. Ron Hubbard Way. The vote is 8 to 3 in favor of renaming the street, but without a unanimous vote, the issue will come up again a week later.

My other comment - people need to attend city meetings and learn how CoS shoved the name change through, and then make an even bigger push, or this will fail. But if it succeeded, it would be great. There's an untapped silent backlash of disgust for CoS in Los Angeles.

And, as of April 5, 1997, it also has a new cross-street—named L. Ron Hubbard Way, after the well known author, humanitarian and Founder of Scientology.

Totally disagree. This is something a lot of the public and possibly some papers (LA Times anyone?) would quietly get behind.

It's lulzy, and it sends a message...

Cape Canaveral, Florida got its "old name" back. It was renamed Cape Kennedy, and then changed back.

Berendo Street is an old name, going back to before 1910, has a middle school named after it, and is part of the history of Los Angeles.

When Googling Wollershiem to see who he was, and upon reading his Wiki article, I came across this.
