Sending a Press pack
Are press packs sent via email? Or do I just give the press a link the megaupload? I think that would not be very cool to the AP.
I'm not sure how to include the zip file alone as an attachment. Nonetheless, the media outlet I'm focusing on requests no attachments in messages. Will they accept the press pack only after they have agreed to cover a story? |

Re: Sending a Press pack
Usually by request only. Unless you have a previous (or current) relationship.

It depends. By email, unsolicited, it'll most likely be ignored. Send a summary hook. If it's the AP, press releases are your best bet.

Re: Sending a Press pack
Thanks alot. But how do I fit a press pack in an email? I'm guessing it must be zipped, but when I add the file the properties list my full name. The file seems to be empty anyways, I don't know. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Sending a Press pack
Guise! I need computer savvy anons to help out. Otherwise, Arnie Lerma, Boris Korczak, *edit* and WBM *edit* have no chance to get on the air, okay?
If I move the zip file into the email, even though the file has my name in it, will my name appear when someone else downloads it? I don't want my name to be attached to the file! Last edited by wat; 07-09-2008 at 09:28 AM. Reason: sfb |

Re: Sending a Press pack
I'm trying to compress the downloaded press pack into an email attachment. After it compresses, a window named "WinRAR: Diagnostic messages" appears with a error reading:
"Cannont email the file presspack copy.zip" ![]() What the fuck am I supposed to do? Also, will the "My Computer" info with my name not be part of this once it is compressed? |

You could include a link to http://img1.anonbw.com/press/GoldInfoPack.pdf instead.

*edit* It would be better is someone just posted the official press pack as an adobe file right on the internet. That's safe to do, right? Since that is another issue altogether, I'll end this thread. Last edited by wat; 07-09-2008 at 12:03 PM. Reason: oh wait... |
