Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
---------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure this is the right thread to put these video links. On the Information tab on the top right, you will find the text that can be printed and given to staff members during protests. Letter to Scientology Staff: Message to CofS Auditor: Letter to CofS Public: Letter to Sea Org Members: Thank you. V8c -------------------------------------------------- Just cross posting these over here from the hive mind thread for V8c, good stuff. |

Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
Here's one of the original 3/15 videos I like a good bit.
With the Ides only a week away I think it's time we get on the ball reminding people by spreading something like this around. |

Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
On Google Video right now rather than YT, this is from the BBC's "The Net" documentary broadcast in 1995, interviewing Californian ex-scn Dennis Erlich about how his house was raided by the Church of Scientology because of material he'd posted online in ARS. His internet access provider, Tom Klemesrud, also came under personal pressure to drop him from the system.
Eventually Judge Whyte, who had issued the seizure order, said it was a violation of his constitutional rights: basically the cult had misled him in order to get permission to come to his house and delete stuff from his computer. In the documentary, Helena Kobrin for the RTC accuses the internet activists (what is now called the "Old Guard") of "copyright terrorism". |

Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
The "The Net: Scientology versus the Internet" video mentioned above has been copied across to YouTube for those who have a problem with Google Video:
It's a classic! |

Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
I for one, am saddened to see what the cult can do to a person.

Re: Scientology-Related YouTube Video Megathread
Scientology on BBC Newsnight, 1996:
In two parts, this. The first is a report by Jeremy Vine (who also introduced last year's Panorama documentary) where he meets Heber Jentzsch at the London Celebrity Centre. Jentzsch is accompanied by Rachel Ryerson of OSA. We also hear from Claudia Milne, producer of the Big Story documentaries, fair game target Bonnie Woods and (briefly) myself. Then it goes to live studio discussion. Ian Howarth of the Cult Information Centre gives a very bold condemnation of the Co$, quoting the Latey "corrupt, sinister and dangerous" judgement and saying he represents thousands of families with grievances against the cult. John Wadham of Liberty (the National Council for Civil Liberties: UK equivalent of the ACLU) defends Scientology's right to advertise on TV but in a Freudian slip calls it "crap. er, claptrap". The most juicy moment is where David Mellor MP describes Heber as "this deeply sinister person with a combination of soft blandishments and underlying threats to those who don't like him", leaving Heber reeling. |
