Orlando 4-19
Us Orlando Anon had our Operation Reconnect protest today because we all went to Clearwater on 4-12. :)
+ Orlando Weekly will be putting us on the front cover (from what I overheard). + NO COPS! :) + LOTS of fliers distributed. +BEST OF ALL: ORLANDO WORE MASKS FOR THE FIRST TIME! :D We know the laws and Florida does not ban masks at peaceful protests! -Dr. Lee Sheldon brought back the infamous yellow truck... FAIL! -Lower numbers *EDIT* Picasa Web Albums - spectator_anon - 4-19 Last edited by Spectator; 04-19-2008 at 02:35 PM. |

Yeah the yellow truck was full of FAIL..but the DR. had to come out of hiding to take some pics..so that was MOAR FAIL! Seems kinda dumb to park a truck in front of an org..only to have to come out from behind it to take pics. If it were me I'd be lounging inside hiding behind the blinds in the AC where its cooler...lol |

Re: Orlando 4-19
Since this was the first one I did, I didn't notice the lower turn out. It didn't matter, we definitely had the hearts and minds of Orlando commuters. And not a single Scilon bugged us. Lee was kind of sad, really.

I see a lot of bodies I don't recognize. And my sign is being used like a dirty whore :D
I drove by and honked <3 I couldn't see much given the direction I was going in, but great going guys! |

Lee was taking into account some of what we were saying. I saw him looking at signs and writing things down; websites maybe? I hope he does some research. Maybe he'll blow before the entire ship sinks..
Awesome protest overall. I think a lot of people heard our message, since it was basically rush hour traffic. Plus the Orlando Weekly guy mentioned a front page article, or somesuch? |

Re: Orlando 4-19
More is good in terms of numbers but not the bottom line. We got our message out and at the end of the day that is what is going to be counted. That street is a good street because it often hits a giant slowdown of traffic which gives people a chance to read the signs and take fliers.
My favorite part was the cops pulling up, and leaving. Kind of an "Oh damn, they know their laws letz go home gaiz" so much appreciation to the person who did the law research to enable us to wear masks and protest peacefully with very little police involvement.Front page of weekly? I didn't overhear that but we will see come Thursday I suppose. |

I have some photos from the protest here.We had a blast and everyone out there was awesome. I'd have to say that even though there weren't as many of us as the previous protests, this group was probably one of the best ones we've had.
