I t was pretty fun, we met from 11:00-12:00 in church hill square. The "security guards" were some what dicks, but it could have been worse. We marched on to the Church of 4 at 12 and lulz ensued. Almost immediately a Scilon came from the church and started arguing with anon. This lasted the entire protest with the same anons winning the argument.
We had, at most, 47 people, which is not bad. unfortunately Cupcake lady failed to show, as did the megaphone. Anyways, on the march at the end we sort of all failed and got seperated. Anyone know what happened to the others. I was in the group without the banner (if anyone has it bring it to the next protest), we went to Macewan and then I pretty much had to go. Pics are on the way ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are the guards: ![]() |

So, yeah. If we want banners for any other protests I'll be happy to make them, however, I think I am going to start taking donations through paypal (I am fine with strangers giving me money in person too) but I feel so awkward asking people for monies. Plus, this gives me some concept of how much I will cover myself. I'd not worry abut me being namefagged. My IP is readily available and to be quite honest Im unerageb&. I think scifags harassing us here in edmonton is unlikely, but even if they did how would it look? "SCIENTOLOGY HARASSES TEENAGER" On the same line, Thanks to everyone who pitched in for the banner, especially the guy who gave me a twenty.
I think we should print out a lot more flyers and pamphlets next time. I'm meant to but forget a bunch at home :( A megaphone is fine too. To whoever is making the video on the Scilon, I cannot wait to see it. The fucker was out there for 2 hours and the anon representing was VERY well equipped to counter him. Really, props to all who came, and negative props(read: FUCK YOU) to the lack of cupcakes :( Any word on the guys who were taking pics near the end? The two without masks. |

Re: Edmonton, Alberta – Post Game
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part, and I second the WTF about the cupcakes. (It's why we brought the table after all.)
Brewsters went down well after the protest, and a big pile of awesome and win to all anons who showed up for it. I'd like to pass along my respect and admiration for the Anon who managed to stand there going at it for two straight hours with that Bullbaiter. You deserve a case of beer. Tell me what kind you like, and I will be sure to bring it for next protest. Also, giant cookies and bags of awesome to the anons with the cameras, and those who went a-marching and continued the protest with the media people after the rest of us had gone for burgers. Please remember to join us on IRC IRC://IRC1.gatherfortruth.com/EDMONTONRAID IRC://IRC1.gatherfortruth.com/STRATEGY Also, if everyone who has pictures/video/audio would please get ahold of me on IRC, I will give you FTP access to FTP your pictures/video/audio up to Index of /anon/Edmonton I am trying to get as much edmonton-protest related material there as possible, so please, please, please, send me your media. Once against, thank you anonymouse, for a fun and awesome protest. See you at the next one. |

Re: Edmonton, Alberta – Post Game
Alright folks.
Hope you enjoy this. I tried to get everyone who attended some kind of air-time. If I missed you, I apologize, and you are welcome to punch me. I dashed this off really quick, so I wish I had some time to edit it more. Giddy-up. Last edited by Batty McDougall; 04-12-2008 at 10:17 PM. |

Re: Edmonton, Alberta – Post Game
Good job all,
props to those who made all the pro signs, if I had brought my wallet I totally would have sprung for some monies. Props to the homosexual dude for not flipping out on that crazy-bitch who called him a faggot. I second the motion that we need moar fliers, I'll print a shit-tonne next time. Boo to the security guards who wouldn't let us wait around for 40 minutes; we know your job was to keep the peace and all, but seriously dudes, way to be dicks. Props to masked dude who info-bombed the bull-baiter. Props to neck-beards who spoke for CBC-Radio. Sorry for buggering off so early, next time I'll try to poop-sock it. Finally, gg anon, gg Last edited by Robert Jordan; 04-13-2008 at 12:02 AM. Reason: I'm an idiot |

Protest was awesome, I did a quick count and came up with 40 at the start, and 40 2 hours in, but some were different people the second time around. Respect to the guy that argued with the bull baiter for the 30 minutes of footage that I have and also seemed to be still at it an hour later. That guy was insane. Also the rent-a-cops that were chasing us around Churchill Square were annoying but weren't that bad about it. Just doing their jobs. I remember when we were outside city centre's main entrance waiting to go to the actual Scientology building when another rent-a-cop from from the mall showed up and I just started thinking "Oh fuck, here too?" and he asks us what we're doing, guy beside me goes "Protesting scientology." He radio's in and then goes, "Okay, that's fine, carry on." Fucking awesome! For May we should consider using that area as the meeting point, great exposure and foot traffic for the lunch crowd and an opportunity to hand out a ton of fliers (I also wonder if our temporary stay out there is what spiked that CBC reporter's interest.) |

Re: Edmonton, Alberta – Post Game
niiice job Edmanon, you certainly do deserve cupcakes, if I make it that far for one of your 'parties', I'll definitely spring for cupcakes.
Loved "The Bridge is lined with sweat shops" sign, and the bicycler/picketer gui... Congrats with your win
