Oh yes, I am very ready for this month. I plan on spending nearly the entire time in front of the sci center pointing.

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
Maybe a spike for your sign so you can have both hands free?
I noticed a lot of people showing up early so maybe a earlier start time and the same 6pm end time? |

How to get on the radio: Do this on Fridays, 760 AM, from 6:30-7 pm
I was on the Mitch Album radio show the Friday before the protest. He's on 760 AM after Sean Hannity. A lot of these radio guys have a "call in and talk about anything" session. So, I called in to talk about Scientology! The call screener said "We want funny things. What do you want to talk about." "Scientology." "You think that's funny?" "I think it's frickin' HILARIOUS." "Okay." While I was waiting, Mitch's sidekick Kenny started talking about being Rickrolled. He was explaining it on air. When the call screener came back to me I said there was a protest on Saturday and that I could explain who was Rickrolling Kenny. So for about 15 seconds I got on the air and delivered some Epic Wins. They asked me first what I was drinking: "Anything but the Kool-Aid those crazy Scientologists are drinking." That got a few laughs. I then mentioned that there was a protest on Saturday and mentioned where it was and the times. Kenny said, "Hey, that's not just at that one church. I've been reading CNN. Those things are international. They're everywhere." Then I said, "And I think Kenny knows the people who set all these protests up." Whaa??? "Yeah, because they are no strangers to love. You know the rules, and so does Anonymous." Guys, lots of radio people have these call-in things. DO IT. Hell, Rush Limbaugh has a slot for this sort of thing. Man your harpoons. It was INSANELY easy for me to get on the air, and I was on hold for only about 5 minutes. The number is 1-877-44MITCH Dagon "David" Akujin

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
Can you guys give me the input on these questions:
1. What is the grass closest to the street considered? Public or Private grounds? 2. Does anyone know if there are any permits/ordinances/other stupid crap that I should know about setting up a small pavilion/shelter on the grass? 3. What is all of your opinions of getting catering from the restaurant with the ribs sign for may. Depending on the answers id be willing to call the restaurant to get prices of the food. - Dont get me wrong, i love you guys, whomever it is that brought the pizza and treats, but we need to break away from the crowd in may. Lastly, Quote:
Remember these are only suggestions/ideas... |

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
I think 2-5 is the best "time", but of course we should encourage people to show up early and stay late if they'd like. It'd suck to "advertise" noon and have only 10 people show up for the first few hours, especially if they're new and haven't been to a protest yet. It'd be fine, of course, for us oldchanologyfags.
Personally though, I'd rather move the protest to Sunday this time. They have "church" then, remember? :)

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
I think an earlier start time is a good idea. personally i arrived around 1pm on the 12th, probably aiming for the same time or noon for may. I will be getting a spike for my sign so i can spend more time pointing.
i don't know anything about the grass and such, i'm from out of town by several hours, but however, i am willing to pitch towards catering. 20 bucks or so. |

I found this video about how our local church did not pay their air conditioning bill properly last summer.

OH MAN IT'S TIME FOR SOME BATTLETOADS AND WII STRAPS!
We need something EPIC for May. Effing Epic. I am working HARD to recruit more people to this one. I've started a local email newsletter, and some of those people are getting involved now. We had reversible signs, banners, the mail truck of justice... what can we do for MOAR WIN? Also, we need to be more careful about parking; the Scilons are watching the close places more carefully. |

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
i found it interesting where i parked, there was an empty white van with dark tinted windows parked at the entrance of the subdivision. We parked right behind it, and looked around in it before we drove around to park. From what we could see, there weren't any cameras or people hiding in it.
Just thought that was a bit interesting. What is everyones take on going to the local neighborhoods around the "church" and doing a flyer raid? Hell, we could even go to the local university (madonna) and hand out flyers there. Its a bit out of the way, but not that far for people to travel to get to the church on a raid. Edit: Google Mapping the address, Farmington Hills Community College is literally south of the church on middlebelt. Last edited by Zer0; 04-15-2008 at 07:08 AM. |

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
just a suggestion I heard on a different thread. See if someone can't do up a bunch of little hand held Anonymous Flags and wrap a flier around it or attach a youfoundthecard to it and just hand them out during protest or random walk abouts.

Re: Detroit/Farmington Hills
Maybe divide and conquer, Ann Arbor isn't that much of a drive to the org and it has rich people (main target of the CO$). Some more southern anon's could head down there and some could take Farmington. Might be a bad idea due to lack of org at A2 though.
