Indianapolis, IN
in b4 everyone else.
Alright, I think we had a good time, but if we're going to show up on the 10th I think we need to do so in force and with perhaps a "lighter" air; March was HUGE for us, extremely fun, and while finals and the weather may have put a damper on us, MOAR would be appreciated this time around. If we do so I'll bring as many DVDs as I can, as they seemed popular, as well as additional signs. Also, shall we even have a theme? As relevant to the "moral/protestfags" as Reconnect was, it seems to have lost us teh support of the *chans, which, being a /b/tard, hurts me deeply. If we do May, I suggest more general lulz; I can put on a good show and entertain myself regardless, but we may want to make the proceedings more stimulating for the thrill-seekers and the masses. Just some thoughts I'm kicking around. IndyAnon, proceed. Edit: Update. We will almost certainly have a permit this time, music should be a go. However, IF THERE IS TO BE A MARCH THROUGH DOWNTOWN, WE NEED SOME INDYFAGS TO NOTIFY THE LOCAL BUSINESSES ALONG THE ROUTE, PREFERABLY FACE-TO-FACE, A WEEK AHEAD OF TIME. IF YOU WANT TO DO A LEGAL DOWNTOWN MARCH, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY. IF YOU MAKE AN INFORMATIONAL FLIER, I WILL NEED A COPY TO E-MAIL TO THE NICE LADY WORKING FOR THE GOVT. IT ONLY NEEDS TO STATE THAT WE WILL BE THERE IN INDY MAY 10, 11:00-5:00, SO THE LOCAL BUSINESSES CAN REACT ACCORDINGLY. ADVERTISING OUR CAUSE IS NOT NECESSARY BUT MAY BE HELPFUL CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.

Re: Indianapolis, IN
Word on the tubes says that the plan for next month is Operation: FairGamestop (aka GameOver, You lost the Game, FailGame, etc.). As the name suggests, the main topic will be Scientology's Fair Game policy. Concensus is that this protest will be far more upbeat and festive than the other day and they're actively working on getting more internet interest. I've even seen one or two things about fighting amphibians...
Perhaps some protest-themed games are in order? It would be hilarious to see a giant game of Twister. If you want I can compile some protest music, all accquired legally, of course. Edit: Also, the 9th is the anniversary of Dianetics. Last edited by anonitard; 04-13-2008 at 08:55 PM. |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
I was reading up on another thread about the possibility of dressing as video game characters. Sheik's a good one, 'cause she comes with a mask! Problems is, how the hell am I gonna get a good costume together in less than a month?
Dressing as Sherlock Holmes or other famous detectives/investigators would also be relevant to Co$'s fairgame tactics of hiring people to investigate SPs. It'd be funny to see a dozen people dramatically taking their sunglasses on and off. "YEEEEAAAHH!". |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
yea,
I'm really excited about next month. I think that we should all try to really focus on a fairly consistent theme and portray that message strongly. Music, as well as more people, would help a lot too. The weather should be great by then so hopefully we will have more people out walking the streets. It would be great to have a caravan with the boombox at the front, kind of a dance train thing or something. I'm all for costumes but I think they should be appropriate to the theme or the overall protesting. How about locations, or are we going to try and be consistent? We may be able to get more foot traffic at some other locations and I personally would love to do an actual protest, perhaps later on in the day or on a different day completely outside the actual Scientology Mission here in Indy. I know that it is a supposedly small building and such, but I have seen some youtube videos of people protesting out front of those and still getting cross traffic, as well as reactions from the Scilons themselves. -Sir DesmAnond |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
The problem with protesting at the Indy org is that it is actually someone's house. It's just off of 465 on highway 36, and looking at Google Maps' street view there's really no friendly spot to set up a picket. The house itself is hidden behind a fairly thick tree row and there aren't any signs around indicating that it is a scientology org. Since it's a house there might be a higher chance that they could call the police and say we're harassing them.
Anyone know if they do Free Stress Tests in the local malls? Could always do like San Francisco and New York City and do a hug raid. |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
I didn't know that it was just a person's house that they run some operations out of. That's definetly a no-go then, but I still think someplace with more traffic than the capitol building would be great, although the capitol doesn't require a permit, which is awesome.

Re: Indianapolis, IN
More people should show up just for the reason that the weather will be nicer. The most foot traffic is gonna be down by the mall and down by the Circle. I know I've heard stuff about us not being aloud on the monument but I haven't heard anything about the sidewalks around the monument or the sidewalks in front of the mall.
Just a suggestion and sorry if it's already been out there in older protest threads. |

As far as permits, I think we have to call someone with the Indy police department ahead of time. I know AYNonymous tried to call their liason (one of the lieutennants) before the last protest but all he said was he kept getting voice mail. |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
I have a Metool costume, which I will be wearing, and a DDR pad costume, which is unwieldy but might be inspiration for people.
And my sign will read "More Pylons, Fewer Scilons"

Re: Indianapolis, IN
I, too, have looked at the CoS "org" off of Rockville/465. It is an unassuming house but obviously a base of some operations as they have been posting this (see below) ad via interwebz ((for years)) and word has it, they tried to get into NUVU for good press, but weren't successful. For once, those silly Broad Ripple people came through.
*Note the late and almost non-existent office hours. lol I could see how this is just a fence. If we wanted to be close, we could figure out some mode of staying near the Speedway gas station and the intersections around 465. The traffic is EXTREMELY heavy in and out of Avon about three times a day. Saturday would be a heavy day for obvious suburbanite reasons. Otherwise, I'd suggest putting up some signs letting neighbors and the surrounding community know they have a CoS terror cell in their midst should we decide to go elsewhere. Illegally posted signs near the roadside or on posts will eventually be brought down, BUT at least someone will read them. If we need to get a permit going, we need to act fast. The date is fast approaching, and we all know how slow Indy is to do anything dealing with the government. I would love to bring my little boy in costume! I think it might do us some good to have people see that whole families, and not just "stupid college kids" are in this fight. I've seen a lot of slander against the protests calling them childish attempts of activism by co-eds "with nothing to do since Spring Break is over." Total bunch of bullshit, I know. Being on the right side of the law, with protests in mind, goes against what CoS wants us to do. They'd kill for us to get fined (which would require positive ID) or get bad press for marching. Although, I have seen a lot of picketers over the last couple of years line the streets near the Mall and towards the Gov Center for things like Hotel wages and other strikes... I wonder if THEY had permits. >.> I'm down for designing some signs if you guys are willing to make them. I have a ton of simple sign ideas from the guys/girls at Xenu.net. Anyhow, keep your gloves on. I know Indy CoS might not be as dangerous and as sneaky as LA or CW operatives, but we should all be careful. Here's the AD naming another man other than Big Dumb Ernie. Anyone heard of this David guy? STRESS, UNREASONABLE EMOTIONS? DIANETICS CAN HELP! Re: Indianapolis, IN
We'll see you guys in Chicago in July?
Anonville Chicago Let us know if you have any problems with travel plans/hotel arrangements, we'll be happy to help. Also, megabus.com is worth checking out (like a nicer, British version of Greyhound) as it is extremely cheap <$40. Last edited by nimonian; 04-15-2008 at 10:57 AM. |

Re: Indianapolis, IN
ROAAAAAAAAAAAD TRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
Hokay, so, here's what needs doing. 1. Marching permits. If the weather is good and we feel like walking around with our signs we probably will need permission. 2. Music permits. Tunes are absolutely required for the next raid, and those probably have more paperwork attached to them. 3. A boombox. Cheap is okay. Portable is preferred. The first two should be taken care of by someone Indy-local, preferably the same person, someone who's got their own transportation and is sure to be there in May. So... somebody start calling these tasks and get on them. When you make progress on any one of these, post here and SHOW ME YOUR MOVES!

Re: Indianapolis, IN
We're working on permits. We can definitely protest in the park, but a stage will be $250/h. We're working on fund-raising ideas to solve that problem. Any help would be most appreciated, and can be put in the thread or discussed in the IRC.
Thanks IndyAnon. |

Are any Anons going to be in Indy this weekend? Apparently CoS is asking all their members to go everywhere and frantically raise every last dime they can promote Dianetics. http://forums.enturbulation.org/15-b...th-april-9480/ Last edited by anonitard; 04-17-2008 at 07:53 AM. |

Sadly, I can't afford to mini-raid. I've got conference papers to write and a masters' thesis to finish. Best of luck to anyone who does.
Look at me still talking when there's science to do!

Re: Indianapolis, IN
Count me out for the mini-raids as well, I'm not able to afford driving 3 hours cross-country on a weekly basis with gas prices the way they are.
I'll attempt to call and obtain permits/permission tomorrow though I'm not even close to local, it has to get done and if no one else mans up, I'll bite one for the team. I think I have anti-fairgaming armor to begin with, for several reasons I won't divulge here.
