Right, what we need this time around, and our primary weapon should be organization. We need at least triple the numbers of April 12th.

Re: Louisville, KY
Sup guys. Here's my idea: put fliers up around UK and U of L's campuses and also downtown. lexfags: we could maybe gain some of the dame/buster's croud by posting filers in that area. It's a stretch but probably worth the effort.

Re: Louisville, KY
LOUISVILLE ROCKS!
![]() so, someone made a thread about how some of the smaller cities and some of the cities who don't get as much recognition as the places with bigger orgs are being slighted. i happen to think ya'll should get more recognition. i want to thank you for organizing the protests in your city. i know that it must be much harder to show up with very few people and protest. every Anonymous protest is important. every anon who protests is vital. every anon who cannot make it to the protests, but who helps in other ways is vital. there is not one of us who is not an integral part of this movement. so, thank you very much for having your protests! day day, AnonMomAnon .

Re: Louisville, KY
I've tried to get people to flier UK without results. I have done two raids on my own. The best place to hit UK is in the parking lots, they are offf campus and safe, just stick the flyer under the windshields. I also passed some out standing at the medical students buldings, as I handed them the flyer I point out Scientology is against their upcoming professions.

Re: Louisville, KY
Are we or are we not allowed to wear masks? Why wouldn't we be able to? that's freedom of expression. I want to be there and I will be bringing my mask. Can someone elaborate?

Re: Louisville, KY
Do you know anything about if permits are required? If they are, are they required per group or per individual?
Also, could one assume that surgical masks were ok? We all might have severe allergies you know. Last edited by brianhonaker; 04-28-2008 at 09:22 AM. Reason: Adding information |

Re: Louisville, KY
as far as i know permits aren't required. supposedly there is some statute or ordinance about not having faces completely covered or some such nonsense, but yeah I would assume surgical masks are clear, and/or bandanas, etc...

I've got a call in to the local ACLU chapter. Hopefully they will shed some light on the matter. I guess I could call the county attorney's office.

Re: Louisville, KY
I have found the city ordinance in question, and it reads as follows:
§ 130.01 WEARING OF MASKS. (A) Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. (1) MASK. Any mask, device or hood whereby any portion of the face is so hidden or covered as to conceal the identity of the wearer. (2) PUBLIC PLACE. All walks, alleys, boulevards, avenues, lanes, roads, highways or other ways or thoroughfares dedicated to public use or owned or maintained by public authority; all grounds and buildings owned, leased by, operated or maintained by public authority; all buildings owned, leased or operated for the use of organizations enjoying all tax-exempt privileges as a charitable use. (B) Wearing of mask in a public place. No person shall, while wearing any mask whereby a substantial portion of the face is hidden or covered so as to conceal the identity of the wearer, enter, be or appear in any public place within Jefferson County. (C) Exemptions. The following are exempted from the provisions of subsection (B) of this section: (1) Any person under 16 years of age. (2) Any person wearing traditional holiday costumes in season. (3) Any person using masks in theatrical productions including use in Mardi Gras celebrations and masquerade balls. (4) Any person lawfully engaged in trades or employment or in sporting activity where a mask or facial covering is worn for the purpose of ensuring the physical safety of the wearer or because of the nature of the occupation, trade or professional or sporting activity. (5) Any person wearing a gas mask in drills, exercises or emergencies. (6) Any person engaging in an activity such that the wearing of the mask is protected by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky or the United States Constitution. (1994 Jeff. Code, § 130.01) (Jeff. Ord. 1-1983, adopted and effective 2-8-1983; Lou. Metro Am. Ord. No. 35-2007, approved 3-26-2007) Penalty, see § 130.99 I think Exemption 6 could apply here as Freedom of Expression is protected by the Constitution. Thoughts? |

Re: Louisville, KY
The first amendment is pretty much our shield in this situation I do believe. Freedom to assembly in peaceful protest, freedom of our expression in the name of our cause, and even exemption 4's professional protection clause. We're organizing a peaceful protest to be carried out in a professional manner as an addition to our lobbying acts, are we not? I think we're in the clear... However, you should actually ask the police themselves about how they'll handle it, as well as asking if they'll offer any form of protection for anons on the scene. Permits may not be required, but police protection is still a perk. If possible, going in person would be best. That way they can see that you're not a twitching psychotic murderer.
This all having been said, I'm in south-eastern Kentucky but am working on getting up there to support the cause and rally the troops. Anyone else down here want to head up as well? We will rally for our cause, and there will be much rejoicing. |

Re: Louisville, KY
Good job everyone.
I've been with the protests since the very first one and helped plan the first Louisville one, but I've become non-ymous... and through forces out of my control ,cannot be part of this anymore. So, In the week before the protest, I offer you my words of wisdom and what I've learned for any new people out there. Find some way to cover your face, wear a wide brimmed hat if you have to, don't let them see your face at all, they are not joking at all. Wear masks at your own discretion, the cops may force you to take them off regardless of whether you are protected or not. The cops are your friends and can be nice, just listen to them. You do not need a permitif you let the LMPD know. THe Divison of the LMPD you need to call is the 5th division. I don't have their phone number anymore, but you should as kfor a Sergeant Amy Brown. She is there usually at 3PM and later on weekdays. Be smart, don't get arrested, and don't do dumb shit. And post vids to youtube dammit. |

Re: Louisville, KY
An idea that came to mind about the not being able to wear masks problem. I remembered a long time ago when I dyed and cut my hair in an odd manner that I had never tried before and my relatives didnt reconize me. So I wanted to make this suggestion.
If you cant wear masks to conceal your faces. Theres nothing there that says you cant wear dark LARGE sunglases. and get wigs with long hair to let hang over your face. A little face paint added to doesnt hurt either. |
