Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread

Ok.........great! This is starting to roll, I think

First off, I LOVE The Lucy's Psychiatric Booth 5 Cents EPIC WIN!
I can see Scientology having a *major* Heart attack over it---so this IS
Something we need to get onto. (This is separate from THE big picket, imnsho). I've said for a few years we need to have a table next to their's with: FREE CULT TEST:
ARE YOU SUSCEPTIBLE TO CULTS????" :)

Secondly------it sounds like the afternoon/evening will work. Just so you know, Hollywood Blvd. is a *very* friendly place on the week-ends, at least.
TONS of young people go to clubs, to it's well *guarded* of sorts.

Re:
Quote:
(3-5 is early--soccer mom time, 4-6 better, drive time in la is about 4:30-6:30--more influential, FAR FAR better/more flattering light for photos)
Funny, I originally said 4-6----but then I remembered 2 things that are key:

1) By 4:00, at the HGB (Hollywood and Vine) they can get most or all of the Staff out and in buses to go to the event. Thus I said 3:00, so we'll be there when they try to move, or it'll SERIOUSLY screw up their day (Magoo Waives to the OSA floor mats reading this I can ask a few who used to work there what they think, too.

2) IF people have to travel to the Shrine---they should be there by
7 at the latest, ideally by 6:30, and don't forget they have to grab something to eat---thus I said 3-5/ 1 hour to eat and travel, and be there by 6-6:30 latest. It's up to you all.

Re "The Shrine"---that's ALWAYS meant to be "The Shrine" down by USC, at least by anyone who was ever "in" and critics, too.
I've never heard of the Hubbard life Expo called the shrine---but if so, that's someone else's description.

I love the idea of a masquerade party mid May! (If you can't, I can always have it here at my house---it's small, but is a proven excellent party house!)

Also, for the B-B-Q party after,
in June----those with masks *could* bring either face paint, or switch to masks just over their eyes, so you all can eat Re Transportation, we'll just have to meet in Hollywood and go together, which is healthier, anyways. Adventure is always filled with lulz!

I think most of us agree we need a summer cooler outfit. One of my friends suggested white flowing clothes (sort of like what one of the posters mentioned)---cool, comfortable. Or just white t-shirt, I think, with either shorts or white pants. Either white, or tan--but certainly something cooler than black, for the summer months. Another critic and I were talking about this, and she said also IF people wanted, you can get T-shirts made up like The suit---with a red tie. ??? Just some thoughts.

Well, this is a nice fast start into our next few months. Re the theme---what do you all think? I've heard "Fair Game" and here's my thoughts on that:
To discuss "Fair Game".....you basically have to keep repeating the lies
OSA thrives on, and of course they'll be saying, "Where's the proof?"
Granted ATH was outed from Anonymous as well as a few others experienced "Fair Game". However, they don't want to be used---or that's what one told me, so if not, you don't want to be caught with your pants down. (Well, some may---but hey, on THIS issue, think about it

My vote is use Dianetics. It's "Clear" (Literally--although that doesn't work, which is my biggest issue) and easy to nail Scientology with. Now THEY have to prove there IS a "Clear", which IF there was, I wouldn't by typing this. See the difference?

Sorry so long,

Best

Zer0Panda----Love to glow stick idea! Also, great you love to cook~!
Yeah............we *could* do a pot luck deal----or take out on the beach.
Which ever is easier. We could always hit "Ralph's" after picketing--
then you don't have to shlep the food all day.
Sounding TASTY and FUN, eh?

Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread

OK, nifty ideas all around so far. A couple things to keep in mind concerning night raids though:

-LA is teh scarry in the dark. I'll be riding the bus so this WILL be an issue for me. Being tailed by scilons in the dark may be no fun either.

-LA freeways are teh scarry in the dark. And it's a LONG drive for me. Not that this will stop me mind you! But it may be a problem for others.

-Night protests make signs impossible to read. So don't count on cars reading our signs easily. Lighting will be a must.

-Night protests may be a draw or a deterrent for the press depending on how they are handled. So keep this in mind when planning.

-On the positive side I think a full on neon-rave protest would be teh shit. Mah lasers! Lets me showz U them!!! *insert rave music here*

Does anyone have a portable smoke machine?

That aside, does anyone have any objections to me bringing cake (Hostess variety)? It's no one's birthday, but I figure "why not", no? I'll also be bringing sodas/iced tea/juice for people in a big cooler. Any preferences?

Lastly, Summer uniform idea for hot days: Wife beater and colorful summer-style shorts/swim trunks with a black tie. Floaties optional. Guy Fawkes mask is a must of course! I want to see them scream "terrorists!" at that! (don't forget sunscreen!)

Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread

We have a really great psychology teacher at our school. I was thinking i might be able to start an anon fund of sorts to raise money for delicious cakes, drinks, glowingness and the like. I know at least three teachers from our school that would support Anonymous 110%, and that alone could get us some very delicious cakes. Many fliers are going to my ASB people trying to get some schoolwide support here. Any extra money from it (if it works at all haha) would go to an organization to help ExKids or something to that effect.

RE: LA scariness. It really is haha, but travel in groups and your good. LA freeways, long freeway is loooooooong. Not much you can do about that I know what you mean though, i live far. been taking the metro rails, but im driving this time

On that note, im hoping to trick out my car as the anonomobile/ anonobird (its a Firebird).
Hoping that works out, i know at the Shrine at least theres street parking. Going to be catering out the back if i can get it all set up.

Psychologists helping Anon, i really really LOVE the irony there (the flowers is irony :p

Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread

I suspect our crowd could put together an Anonyrave with signage made from glowsticks and thus still readable to passing cars :D A bunch of those glow necklaces and bracelets (preferably the sort that is a long single strand held shut with a plastic connector of some sort), a few dabs of hot glue to put 'em in place... glow in the dark sign! Or if we're feeling bold, blacklight paint, though that would make portable lamps necessary to provide the needed blacklight to make it glow.

how about a candle light vigil sometime
or for a 15-minute part or something?
klieg lights are good in la
i used to rent them but
NO idea about cost anymore. it's a bit of a muddle
over there @Shrine/USC
but maybe sometime the bookstore or the cute supermarket on franklin will
give us the PLACE...just thinkin' here...
otherwise, the shining lights from the downtown LApolic helicopters
the area's right for it...

it IS dangerous around there (more than just the Scions) so we can help each
other out--rides, walks, no one sets out alone, we KNOW that a spy won't want us to
give them a ride home or walk them to their cars.

we can figure that out as time grows closer.

First off, when was the last time (Or have you ever) been in Hollywood on week-ends? It's like one gigantic PARTY! There's TONS of light----tons of people----music, etc. It's FUN. Here's another way we could do it:

We could start at "The Shrine" (Well lit due to the event) or if they're on Hubbard slayway, (the Complex) we could start at like 6-8 there> THEN move up to Hollywood Blvd, which is well lit, fun, loud, a big party---and picket from the HGB to Highland (By the old Testing Center). People can take the subway, from the Shrine to Vine.... and get on it right there at Highland, to go home. Bus from where?
Have you checked out the subways? They are very safe, even at night.

Just a thought---or you can possibly car pool, too. It wouldn't hurt anonymous here in LA to work out a car pool deal for those that are from your area, eh? ((And if you want to keep your actual address confidential, you could tell them to pick you up at_________some local store or Starbucks)). We always car pool and then take the subway---both are very functional and fun

OR if we do the 3-5----you *could* leave after that, if the dark is really a problem, keeping it short, sweet, and badaboom! You're off.

I agree re the dress, and love the idea about the signs with glow dealies, too! ROCK ON ANONYMOUS LA~~~!!!

I say save that for in December, for Lisa McPherson's memorial.

For years the critics went to Clearwater, picketed, and then did
a candlelight vigil (with bagpipes and all) on this date, until Clearwater
put in their stupid "Injunction".

Great ideas about sticking together: That should be a rule, no matter when.
No one person should be off picketing, ever, except Ida the Queen of Hemet (who is protected well by her neighbors and friends).

My best,

Magoo~~

X3 dood I know....I have techno music like crazi and also your talkin to a chick who used to have neon orange hair! I think it would be an AWSOME try of thing to do at nite. I know there is some out there glow in the dark face pant, and also if some people were to get some extre GF masks we could get some special glow in the dark paint. and paint the mask's! :3 Oh man I have SOOO many idea's!!! Im tottally down for it.

And for the BBQ thing if we could get a donation box going to help earn money to do that, I would love to hook up with a few people who else wants to cook and put in some idea's and what not. Magoo or anyone else who wants to see what we can do for a BBQ, if you wanna send me a message we could probbly talk more about this.

Also for the t-shirt suit design idea. Im gonna try to draw out an idea and what not. And find a t-shirt company who can silk screen it. and find out how much it would cost to make, let alone make alot of them. :3

Re: Los Angeles/Hollywood 5/10 Official Protest Thread

Just have to throw this out there:

Can we please please please start at 3/4? I'm pleadin' for all my public transportation peeps here, keeping in mind that most trains going out of LA are gone by 8:30ish from Union Station.

If we start at 6, me and my friends will have to leave the protest by 8 to make sure we don't miss our train. And that would leave us to seriously question going to LA at all, given that it takes us over an hour to get there. And we've tried the more local protest, and it was an epic suckfest compared to LA, so we'd really rather be in LA with you party people.

But if we start at 3/4 (as opposed to the 11), we don't have to wake up at 6 to catch the train up (yayyyyyyy) and we WILL be there and we WILL be able to bring MORE people.

Also, this way we catch people going home, as peeps in LA tend to bail from work at like 4-6.

So yes. I don't care how late it goes, 'cause we have a train to catch, but if we can easily catch the people coming home/dinner crowd, that'd be best. And then I would be able to rationalize the epic transportation usage.

I have a feeling he's near the Tustin protest, because my group had the same problem. We decided to go to LA because it's a lot more epic, but the 1+ hour drive was a bit of a pain. We might go to the Tustin one next time, or even the San Diego one if you guys end up protesting at night. Our group really gets around... haha.
