Sacramento, CA

It seems like only yesterday...

Ok, well, enough reminiscing... WE'VE GOT WORK TO DO!

Looks like May 10th is the final date. Looks like OPERATION: FAIRGAMESTOP is the theme.

(Look it up on ED for more info on what it means): Is This Battletoads - Encyclopedia Dramatica

Start calling the CoS and ask when Battletoads will be released (KIDDING DO NOT DO THIS)

This is a fully /b/ supported theme, I have heard. Good news!

Time to plan the party. (Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes here. I didn't see a thread. I don't care, someone else can start it and I can lock this one if I did wrong)

NEW IDEAS FOR MAY:

Maybe flier raids in small groups to increase our reach? If it's legal, maybe we can hit the park and the mall areas for an hour or so.

I hate to think about Ghost getting stuck with a huge bill for permits. Can we get the money to him somehow so he doesn't have to hope for donations the day of? Is Ghost getting the permits again?

Did we want to be in front of the church again? Any new places we want to try out?

April was so much better than March, in my opinion. I had so much more fun this time around. Even if it's hot, the music does wonders for the morale.

I really don't see any way we can improve the mood, it was about perfect. Maybe just how many people we reach out to? Let's dish!

FAIRGAMESTOP: It sounds like two game store owners had a lunchtime meeting where they were served glasses of pure faggotry while deciding on the gayest name for an operation.

Ghost is again getting the permits. He doesn't have an enturb account, but I relay him info from our threads here, so if you have anything you want me to relay, lemme know either through the thread or PM.

Also, here's the info I had in the first post from the last thread, if you want to include any of it (specifically the CoS info and donation info)

Hey all, I have been asked by Ghost to request that any Anons who can spare some $$$ chip in to help pay for the permit, food, and possibly an Anon megaphone. Donations can be made through Paypal to anon11337@gmail.com or bringing cash on the 12th.

FYI, permit is $50 for each protest, and we've had a permit for every month except February, and an estimate for a megaphone is about ~$80.

Postgame thread for pix/videos: Sacramento, CA
Also, if the theme is indeed FairGameStop, we can have a lot of video game music in our set list. I have a couple Katamari soundtracks around here somewhere...

music suggestions!
Lulz: A Corruption of LOL soundtrack (download torrent) - TPB
(not a creation of mine)

I will again bring pirate (boobie) girl, and drinks.
While donations are welcome, I don't need the money in advance, and its nbd.

Re: Sacramento, CA

Just my estimation, I think by then they might start moving into the Ramona . Well actually the Industry of Death deal is starting this Thursday, so they have got to have done something so far... I'll check it out when I get a chance this week. I would at least think they would take down the tacky backlit signs before the exhibit. Maybe one of those flexible vinyl signs will be draped over them. And maybe they'll just spiff up the ground floor or something. Did I just solve my own question? Well actually it would help to mask the Scientology affiliation if they just kept it the way it is...

Is there any thread on this forum for protesting the exhibit?

Re: Sacramento, CA

Just an FYI, but there is much talk about coming as your favorite video game character, to match the May theme.

To be fair, the theme could just as easily be 'Operation: Fail Game'.

I see no difference.

It probably belongs in Local and Miscellaneous Protests

BTW I noticed their Volunteer Ministers at the Folsom Blvd flea market in East Sac - not sure if they're regulars on the weekends there but I'm just putting that out there.

Pixietricks, zircon, big giant circles and sixto sounds do some badass VG remix music. Project Playlist has some of their stuff. As for characters (if everyone agrees we should include them) , I think there should be a whole slew of them. Samus, Mario, Chocobos, Street Fighter, Zelda and Link, etc.

Re: Sacramento, CA

Had an epic time at the protest. Next month we will definitely have a team of at least 6 coming with me.

FairGameStop is a bit on the silly side for a name, but if it gets /b/ involved again, I could care less. Battletoads it is!

Video game muzak would be great, SPECIFICALLY, someone needs to find the theme song for Battletoads!

As to caek, I hope everyone enjoyed my delicious caek (the one that said "You" "Delicious Cake" with the trademark red and blue dots.), even though I ended up with half a cake at the end. Also, waterbottles. Those things were heavy up 4 flights of stairs.

The megaphone and the multiple music sources were SO great to have, let's keep that up! :3

As to the whole theme, what do we want to do? I know that this time around, with a much larger group coming with me, we might cook up something crazy to dress up as. Also, viral video idea made my brain explode, hopefully my friends and I can create it.

As to Ghost and the protest permits, I'll bring along another few dollars for him at the next protest, along with my group. if everyone that comes gives him a dollar, he can cover the expense probably really easily.

I enjoyed your delicious caek! It was the only chocolate one.

Donations can be made through cash again at the next protest or through the paypal info I posted above. Agreed that even a dollar or two can help a lot.

I have to agree, that be one gay name. I thought "Game Over" sounded vaguely threatening, but it has dump trucks of win over this one.

Fuck...I'm totally adding a "M" to my hat, wearing a red shirt and overalls, and drawing a mustache on my mask.

wait...the reason we're not using "game over" is because it sounds vaguely threatening? VAGUELY?? are you serious?

------edited because i suck cocks---------

do we even need themes in the first place?? kinda silly considering every protest has consisted of the same talking points:

fair game
disconnection
abuse and brainwashing in general
tax exempt status
ridiculous costs
lolxenu

the only one that made sense was disconnect. having everybody hold signs meant to pull on the scilon emotional fabric was a good reason to unite under a common theme. other than that, EVERY other point is hit during these protests, so naming and (sci)theming them is really unnecessary imo.

however, theming them after something completely un-sci related makes loads of sense. why don't we theme our protest attire and sign imagery differently every month?? like:

operation: nintendo power (video game cosplay)
operation: goatse (i wish. lol)
or
operation: caturday- wait...that might bring out the furries, but you get the idea.

-----again. edited. cocks.-----

DNA, I support this.

also the "operation: nintendo power" name could work. I can just wear what I did on the 12th, throw on a bandana, carry a cardboard box around and be solid snake.

This could be a hit with all the old school nintendo fans.

GET THIS THROUGH YOUR SKULL:

1. I have nothing to do with themes or naming, I'm not even an anon member.
2. That was a personal thought only meant to reference the current name.
3. In the end I don't give a flying F*CK what the name is...
4. Congrats, you have achieved epic faggotry.
lol. whoa dude. you are far too defensive. this is the second time i've seen you flip on something that you took the wrong way.

i asked in the very first sentence of my post if the reason the name was changed was because people thought it was threatening. i never pointed a finger at you. caaaaaaaalm doowwwwwwwn.

i read into your statement wrong. when you said you thought it sounded vaguely threatening, it sounded to me like there had been a discussion about the threatening nature of this name and you were saying "i can see how it could be seen in that light" i went off on an assumption that the name was changed due to the majority believing it was threatening. i apologize for inadvertently pissing you off.

its actually... probably better that you aren't anon. lol. i can see you being trolled very easily.
