I've noticed that a number of you are wishing you had certain costumes, and I would like to suggest Decades Costumes they offer costume rental at around $30 for 5 days and I found them very helpful. Give them a call!

Regarding the parking spaces in front of the CoS: Ghost is checking with the permit office to see if there is anything we can do that way to get the spaces blocked off. If that doesn't go through, then we can start looking for CL clunkers.

On a side note: music, caek, ect helped alot with moral but our numbers were way down. Was it because the heat? or was bringing familys together again not a lulzy enough topic to get the average anon off the interbutts?

Also we need to do more flyer raids. Groups of 4-5 with flyers and signs breaking off to go patrol the streets. I dont think I saw much of that at all in April aside from stopping the dvd guy.

Also I grabbed what seemed like the majority of the remaining flyers when I was cleaing up the corner opposing the church. I will be bringing them all on the 10th as there are plenty still left.

Thats all from me for now. =P

I think something equally important to do, is spread fliers before hand to (or in) high traffic areas. If small groups of anon do so, there will be larger turnouts.

I was suprised to find just this week that a demi-anon friend of mine had no idea about chanology.

I'm sure some of those were mine, I forgot a fuckton when I grabbed my table and left. Also forgot a giant box of forks, but thankfully I recovered that later.

Glad to see someone didn't let them go to waste.

I saw a suggestion posted on another forum about doing "Free Gullibility Tests" (in contrast to Free Stress Tests) where we give the public a mini-quiz about Scientology. Since we had the Free Stress Tests up last time, would anyone be interested in converting that to Gullibility Tests?

Thoughts? Suggestions? Questions to put on the "test"?

I think the inspiration originally came from this:

Wikileaks has some of the sci-security checks up. We could always use some of the more outlandish questions off of one of those.

Excellent ideas.

As for the May 10th theme, we are really dissappointed. The whole idea behind the April 15th one was great and really struck home with others. I think that we will come across as lunatics, drawing sympathy for Co$. Furthermore, if any media DOES show up, we'll probably have blown it. We are not sure how we feel about this yet. It will be tons of fun for anon, but the rest of the world will not get it.

So, what should we do?

Re: Sacramento, CA

I agree to an extent, but hopefully there's enough on-target signage and whatnot to mitigate a few cosplayers, which attracts attention whether good or bad. Hey, anyone remember Pikachu girl from March? Win.

I'm sure we're not the only ones feeling a bit of trepidation about next month... but, lulz must be had I suppose. I guess I concur with the notion that merriment and silliness are effective icebreakers that make people drop their defenses and get drawn in, whereupon more serious folk go in for the kill with articulate explanations, flyers, etc. Personally I prefer a near-equal mix of both approaches, with perhaps a slight edge for seriousness.

Yeah, a pikachu or harasment panda here and there are fine but we can't stray to far as to look like some gaming/anime convention who lost its way.

I find it very interesting that you deleted everything in your original post that caused me to react this way and then try to tell the world I overreacted: I did not. Your post was remarkably childish, and someone needed to tell you to grow up.

From your (edited) message: ------edited because i suck cocks---------

One of us did, in fact, overreact; it just wasn't me.

So, what should we do?
Let me address your concerns.

If reporters show up, we need to choose someone (NOW) to speak with them. It doesn't matter what they SHOW on the news, as long as what we SAY is spot on. A party atmosphere with memes makes the public notice, and feel we are less threatening.

When I see costumed war protesters screaming about blood and dead children, it makes me move away.

If you both feel you could do a solid job speaking about why we are all there, I would be happy to point you out to a reporter and say, talk to them.

We'd have everyone just point to you guys and say "Talk to them".

The theme doesn't matter so much as getting the word out. Show up and do your own thing. We have no leaders so there is no pressure to conform to anyone else. We could have our own theme! :)

To answer Darkonymous:
Our numbers were NOT "way down". I checked. We had 40-50, and last time we had 50-70. So our peak was our minimum last time, and that means we were within normal ranges. If we had 20-30, I would agree with you. Not a bad showing!

EDIT:

You know, it sounds like we have this core group of around 50 Anons who care more about the message than the "party". I count myself as part of this group. (Although, I love the party, I love the memes, and we NEED THE CAKE AND MUSIC to survive the long days.)

I just wanted to say that I am really proud to be in this group of Anons. We are out there for the ones who are hurting, not ourselves, and that means a lot. Yeah, let's have fun. We can let loose and enjoy the day, but we still get the message out.

We are wasting our time if half of the public think we are having some impromptu anime rave.

With this group, I know they won't. We are viciously effective when it comes to disseminating our message. People KNOW why we are there, there is no doubt. The signs say it, and the fliers say it even better if we can get them into their hands.

If I thought for one second it was a waste of time, I wouldn't be here. I know we are making a huge difference.

Re: Sacramento, CA

Sorry for the DP, but that post was getting crowded.

ATTENTION THOSE WHO ARE BRINGING MP3 PLAYERS.

I came up with an idea I think will be epic.

Get your patoots over to here: Operation Clambake present: Hubbard Audio Collection

Start downloading all of those insane L Ron Hubbard quotes (in glorious mp3 format). It's great material, and all sorted for us. Crazy stuff like L Ron saying he almost go hit by a train on Venus once and how it is populated by aliens.

Let's blast these, all in L Ron's own voice, for the masses & church to hear. There are many awesome and crazy recordings to use. If we can get a good dozen or so and mix them in with the songs, I think that would be a huge win.

Re: Sacramento, CA

I just wanted to throw this idea out there to see what kind of response it gets. One tactic $cientology has employed in the past is following its critics and picketing at their homes. Why not use their own tactic against them? For example, we could probably easily find out who the head of the Sacramento $cientology branch is, find his address and picket outside his home.

Nothing too scary or hardcore, but even something like, "$cientologists - Fair Game!" or "Picketing Homes - Ripped From $cientology Playbook" would get the point across. I don't think there's anything illegal about doing that, so long as it's peaceful, but admittedly, it would take some Anons with major balls to do something like that.

jimboa20, (and anybody else for that matter) please don't take this post as me trying to tell you what not to do, as that is not the intent. Please read my words with an open mind. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way I want to warn you about doing this. I am not a law talky guy, but I think that what you are planning here is probably illegal. I'll bet that someone who makes enough money to be a key member of any church probably lives in a private area like a gated community or a private lane or court where your mere presence would be considered trespassing. Even if the targeted individual doesn't live in a private area, where would you protest? Their lawn? That's obviously private property. A neighbour's lawn? Unless you could get the neighbour's permission, again, trespassing. The street? You cannot legally block the street. The sidewalk? That's a little fuzzy for me. Again, I'm no law talky guy. As far as I know it's difficult to legally protest someone's place of residence.

Next, consider what will happen when you leave. In Downtown Sac you can easily blend into many groups, duck into alleys or public bathrooms, or many other places to quickly disappear. In a residential area, not so much. It'll be damn near impossible to disappear anonymously and quickly. The quickest way would be via a car, but then you risk getting your license plate number being known. Or if you park far away, you'll have to walk very very far to get to your car, and you still run the risk of being followed.

Again, I'm not trying to dissuade you from doing this. Just informing you that there might be ramifications, legal or otherwise, that you may not have thought of yet.
