Re: Just came from Toronto-mini raid and...

Hi All, first time posting here.

I wanted to let you all know that what you are doing is indeed making a difference.

Just over a month ago I was listening to some music on YT when I somehow got directed to one of the Anon videos (I think it was because I looked at the most viewed option). Anyway, I was just blown away!

I spent hours looking at more vids and going to the sites that were suggested and boy was I outraged. The abuses in the "Church" of Scientology must be addressed and stopped.

I'm all for people believing in whatever they want to believe in but its patently obvious that this is a money generating cult. I've been glued to my computer for the last month reading as much as I can on this cult and I'm not liking what I'm reading one bit.

I'm an older anon supporter and I've decided to join the protest on Saturday. You'd be amazed at how many of us older folk support what you are doing. Maybe next month I can drag a few of them with me too.

Some of my family members and friends are afraid for me and don't want me to go but I told them that I am in good hands with you all - that we will take care of each other. Its been a few years since I've been to a protest and must admit that I'm a little nervous but I'm sure I'll gain strength and courage from you all. I'm working on my sign and want to include something about Gregg H. being fair gamed. Can't wait to see you all on Saturday.

Everyone had similar feelings to those when they went to their first protest back around February. Fortunately, you are absolutely correct -- when you stand with Anonymous, you never stand alone.

Re: Just came from Toronto-mini raid and...

Personally, the reason I dislike the cult word, isn't because it may offend, but because people reading it take it to mean "small religious group, the person saying it doesn't like." Given that letting people know Scientology's a dangerous self-help scam that uses mafia like techniques to deal with "problems." I have a big problem with using a word that clearly suggests they're a religion (albeit a kooky one).

Ooooo snap!

Seriously though... being an SP means being a cop-magnet. That thing about the mini-raids is just complete idiocy, Torontofag25.

Yeah, stupid, borderline illegal behavior tends to attract the police. Whodathunkit?

Also, good job on the mom crack, no wonder nobody takes you seriously.

The Tom Cruise Alien Cult wants your Money chant is some what of an issue, but ti does get some people to take fliers. That is what they are, so it's not necessarily a bad thing (though I can see the logic behind not saying it).

A few other things:

Namefagging: because I'm tired of being asked this question, I was namefagged by the cops yesterday. It's alright because no report was filed.

Cops: If an officer named M. Vandall (an older guy) talks to you, just be polite.. He's an ass. Also, if a cop asks you to remove your mask, explain Fair Game to them first. If they don't listen, you have the right to leave the area before you remove it.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, but thanks to everyone who showed (especially to Katwithhands who brought the cake).

ALSO: Today at 4pm we're doing it again. Bring fliers if you can as always.
If Vandall is the guy I think he is--I thought they moved him? Squashy guy, about 40 going bald?

Destroying books is a very political statement, and it's never been done in the name of freedom of thought and expression. People will see it as presecution of some kooky but benign religious folk's beliefs, and it would be quite easy to spin the propaganda that way. Might as well burn Hubbard in effigy or put him on a crucifix; the symbolic meaning will not be changed by our intentions. Do not do it.

Before everyone goes wireball ripping books sometimes, with religious texts it IS done as a form of protest. During some of the protests about the Catholic and Anglican churches people did rip up Bibles occasionally with the addendum that this was what religious officials were doing by covering up sexual abuse.

The message was a bit different, the action-- the same.

It was happened with racist texts during the civil rights movement in some places as well as the feminist movement due to the oppressive nature of some books regarding women. It was a common tactic to boot, stomp or burn "The Total Woman" and a number of other chauvanistic books on camera etc.

However, as Anons we say check out both sides for yourself. So, I agree with the hivemind that it isn't wise due to the nature of what could be taken as hypocrisy.

Friday night I noticed successful fliering when one Anon got people's attention (calling out something) and a second Anon was further along to provide them with a flier. Maybe that technique should be explored more, because it seemed to work well.

But I wouldn't get too dramatic about it gang. It's not that unusual an act.

FUCK. No one takes us seriously, you're right, better cancel the 10th.

Ha, try telling that to the 7,000 people we've given flyers to during our miniraids. How about the countless ex-scientologists we've spoken to that have thanked us for our work? the hundreds of people who've given us cheers and congratulations while we're out there?

You've never been to a miniraid so if you don't like how they're run why don't you come out to one and help out? Until then you go back to your mother's basement and try to ignore the sounds of the random men she's fucking upstairs.

I've actually walked by a couple of your miniraids. The behavior shown by you guys wasn't indicative of something I want to join in.

Also, angry child is obviously angry. And a child.

unless you're out there almost every second day, you have no right to complain you fucking piece of shit. the flash-raids are far, far more important in giving out public information and disrupting scientology's operations than the huge once a month protests (which they just easily ignore).

please, just hit the log-out button in the top right corner and GTFO

Guys, don't feed the troll... Relax.

Listen, you're more than welcome to your opinion, but in the few days I've been up here visiting and spending a couple mini-raids with the Toronto Anonymous... I have not seen a group of more dedicated, informed and passionate protesters since this whole thing started in January.

There have literally been *thousands* of flyers handed out this past week, and that's no exaggeration. They have effectively shut down the CoS for the better part of the week I've been here... Through the rain, they've purchased each other umbrellas to stand and get the message out. People are paying out of pocket for thousands of flyers that the public and getting, reading and coming back with questions about. I had the opportunity to speak to a Scientologist of 15 years yesterday who was on his way into the org, explain to him why we are there and what our purpose is, and open an understanding dialogue that probably changed his opinion of our movement forever. For the better.

Your trolling attitude isn't something we want at any protest anywhere. If you're not interesting in coming out and doing your part to make things better: don't. We're doing fine without you. Worldwide.

I've been to every Worldwide protest so far, forgive me if I don't want to get arrested cause some kid wants to tear what is akin to a bible for Scinos apart.

"trolling"? For what, not wanting to go to jail for being near something like that? Lose the holier than thou attitude, please.

Tearing apart a book is not an criminal offense. You need to do some research before saying stuff like that... It IS, however, retarded, unneeded and a completely isolated event.

I personally think tearing the book apart was a ridiculous move and I've let the Anonymous who did it know that I think so. Even so, it's something that can't be undone now... and it definitely doesn't undo the massive amounts of educational flyers that have been spread thanks to the dedicated few at the miniraids.

Either way, we'll agree to disagree before you start calling people "children" again. Check that holier-than-thou attitude, pal.
