Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Since this seemed to be an issue keeping people from getting informed about up-to-date Vancouver protest information, I'm going to post instructions how to access our IRC channel. Even though these are for use with the Firefox add-on ChatZilla, all the server/how to join information is still the same:
1. Download ChatZilla: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16 2. Start ChatZilla (found under Tools > ChatZilla) 3. Connect to the server by typing "/server irc.lulzhost.net" [Enter] 4. Type in "/nick yournickhere" hit [Enter] - If the nickname is already registered, pick a new one. 5. Register your nickname by typing "/msg nickserv REGISTER chooseapassword youremailaddress@blah.com" [Enter] 6. Identify yourself: "/msg nickserv identify password" [Enter] 7. Finally, join the Vancouver channel: "/join #vanraid" [Enter] Most planning for postering events and general protest planning takes place on IRC, so JOIN US!

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
If you find you are unable to connect to the server, try one of the following:
irc.partyvan.org blabstation.net Organizers of the Vancouver raids strongly advise that you keep in touch with the IRC channel as it is the way to get up to date information. Also, here is the status of Guy Fawkes masks: All are sold out in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Greater Vancouver. The manufacturer will not have orders shipped until later May / early June. Your best bet is to use eBay to order your masks (Aprox. $20 with shipping). Please inform your friends! Not only is it paramount to protest, its extremely fun! Bring your friends and help spread the word, this increases our numbers and helps in recognition of our cause. I am unsure of what May 10th's theme is, if any, so information is welcomed here and in IRC. EDIT: May 10th's theme is the fair game policy Contact local media outlets. You never know if a local magazine or paper wants to interview Anonymous. I, by chance, happened to be interviewed by Between The Cracks Magazine on April 12 so it is possible. Preparation is key to a successful raid. Alternatively, if you don't like ChatZilla there are clients that I personally enjoy: Windows: mIRC + NoName Script (trialware but expiration doesn't stop you from continued use) Mac: Colloquy (freeware) Last edited by Forgott3nAnon; 04-13-2008 at 08:18 PM. |

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Okay, well it seems now that irc.partyvan.org is blocking ChatZilla users. I use ChatZilla and managed to connect to irc.lulzhost.net.

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Whelp, looks like I'm not able to make it once again. Ironically, the person I would have stayed/ gotten a ride with will be here in Victoria during that weekend. I'm getting seriously annoyed that whenever something pops up it's always on the protest days, but hopefully June will remain free.

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
It should say Fair Game Policy not law, and maybe add the protest date time and location on it, so people who see it might pop by, or join us.

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
I'm not too sure what the deal is here, we seem to be focusing more on the the mini ORG raid on the 18th and 19th right now than May 10th.
I've missed the past raids so I wanna do my best with May 10th, are there any areas focus'd primarily on May 10th? |

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
The IRC that was posted is there for all the information in Vancouver, it is used for the May 10'th organizing, just talking, lulz, and other plans for the raid.

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
I'm new to the whole activism idea...But i've been reading about Scientology and some of it's randomly deceased followers and protesters and i've come to be quite infuriated that this so-called religion is allowed to exist. I live in Vancouver and am looking for ways to get involved.

All you need to do is protect your identity with a form of a mask, bring some flyers (make copies of some made by other anons), and be prepared to inform people strolling by. I implore you to connect to the IRC network for all of the info because there you will find out about miniraids, get the flyer templates, etc. etc. ![]()

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
VANCOUVER ROCKS!
![]() so, someone made a thread about how some of the smaller cities and some of the cities who don't get as much recognition as the places with bigger orgs are being slighted. i happen to think ya'll should get more recognition. i want to thank you for organizing the protests in your city. i know that it must be much harder to show up with very few people and protest. every Anonymous protest is important. every anon who protests is vital. every anon who cannot make it to the protests, but who helps in other ways is vital. there is not one of us who is not an integral part of this movement. so, thank you very much for having your protests! day day, AnonMomAnon .
