Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Anonymous,
Register your nickname with NickServ. This may help: To register your nickname with NickServ, go on the chat and type this command (it doesn't matter where you type it): /ns register password email You will need to replace password with the password you want to use for your nickname, and email with your email address. Your email address will only be used if you forget your password; we promise not to use your email address for any other purpose. NickServ should send a message back to you: -NickServ- Nickname xander registered. -NickServ- Your password is blahblah - remember this for later use. Identifying with NickServ Once you have registered with NickServ, you will need to identify for your nickname each time you connect to the chat. mIRC users can add the identify command to their perform list. To identify, use this command: /ns identify password Remember to replace password with the password you registered with. If you don't provide NickServ with your password within sixty seconds, your nickname will be changed. |

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
The IRC server irc.lulzhost.net seems to be down, use irc.partyvan.org instead.
Here is updated information on how to get onto IRC, thanks to Arathena for the original: 1. Download ChatZilla: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16 2. Start ChatZilla (found under Tools > ChatZilla) 3. Connect to the server by typing "/server irc.partyvan.org" [Enter] 4. Type in "/nick yournickhere" hit [Enter] - If the nickname is already registered, pick a new one. 5. Register your nickname by typing "/msg nickserv REGISTER chooseapassword youremailaddress@blah.com" [Enter] 6. Identify yourself: "/msg nickserv identify password" [Enter] 7. Finally, join the Vancouver channel: "/join #vanraid" [Enter] If you are paranoid about hiding your IP address, the good news is that uses Firefox's settings. You can use TOR to anonymize your browsing using Firefox as follows: 1. Download Vidalia from Vidalia - Home and install it on your machine. 2. install the Torbutton plug-in for Firefox by going to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2275 and clicking the "Add to Firefox" button. 3. Start Vidalia. 4. Click the red "Tor Disabled" text on the lower right of your browser window, so that it goes to the green "Tor Enabled" text. 5. Now you are browsing through the TOR network, and your IP is hidden. Note that this can be very slow as there is lots of traffic. Now you can hide your IP address on IRC. A cute Firefox plug-in called "External IP" will also show what IP you are using. Visit ermodev | Firefox Extensions - External IP shows your current external IP address to get it. - E |

For those experienced and want an SSL connection, irc.partyvan.fm (another server address) accepts SSL connections on port 6697.

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Here are some posters I made up to promote May 10th.
Please post these in your university or college if you haven't done so already. Hint: one university has already had two campuses postered. Report back here if you see them! ![]() ![]() These are standard letter size, 8.5 by 11 inches. Feel free to mod these or make better ones. - E |

According to Forgott3nAnon, they had 10 yesterday.
Tough call if there will be any left on Saturday. Best to call ahead and put on a credit card if that is an option for you. Media has been contacted. 230 or so email addy's for local print, radio, & tv. 18 bounced back 14 out of office auto-replies They are informed |

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Hey. So far all I've done is make a couple of satirical vids for YouTube. Would like to attend the protests. Q: How paranoid do I need to be about any personally identifying physical characteristics? I have some difficulty with mobility and generally require a cane for walking or long intervals of standing (even with the cane, a long interval of standing can be quite uncomfortable). I'm a bit concerned that my cane will make me easier to identify. Should I be worried about this? I've never used Chatzilla but will look into it now.

I also highly suggest bringing a folding chair if you have trouble standing for a while as it is draining on, even the unencumbered. Perhaps a niceanon can bring one if you can't carry a chair. We do have a table(s) you can sit on from time to time. UNRELATED NOTE: RELEASE CANDIDATE OF MY FLYER IS OUT! ![]() [ PSD Download Here ]

Hello fellow anonymous, I will be at the May 10/08 protest, I will bring 15 Guy Fawkes masks with me. Half I will sell for $10.00, half I will give away to veteran anon I remember for their past efforts. You will know me by my sign from old protests "CULT ZONE".

Re: Vancouver, British Columbia
Great job anonymous! Expect great praise for creating a uniform mask protest!
All we need now is to copy a bunch of cards and flyers.
