Ok, so here's how it works.

The Red section represents "home base". The 'X' would be right around where Skullkids car would be. The circle is where signs/bags/flyers/drinks/snacks/etc would be held, aswell as the optimum area for media interviews, speeches by ex-sci's, onehuman, or whatever. There would be a minimal actual protest base here, but people congregating for other things (like that big discussion we had yesterday or like... a dance off or something). There should always be atleast a few people here because of all the stuff needing someone to watch it.

The Yellow is our route to "home base" obviously, we make our way from the bus stop onto the intersection on that side, we stop briefly at the circled corner, and then split up into two groups along the two routes. From the yellow 'X' we spread out to our other protest spots.

The Blue and Green are the places we would want to be to reach the most people: Cars and Buses. We can flyer during red lights, and have our signs up where the most people will see them the most clearly. Not to complain about where we had the majority of the signs last time, but cars probably couldn't see our signs all that well. The cars on the other side were too far away for a lot of the signs to have their full effect, and the cars on our side probably couldn't read what we had to say from where they were stopped, and were moving to fast to read much as they drove by. Also, we get to play on the bus stop in the green area aswell.

Last but not least, Maroon. The maroon is where the big signs with websites (like green sweater guy had) should be. Cross back and forth with two big signs like that, one going each way on each side. In my opinion, these signs should show exscientologykids and whyweprotest. Though anything works.

Alright, so, thoughts?

i think that near the bus stop there is going to be alot of clutter. i cant see to many people stopped at that red light seeing much in the way of signage. also transit showed up in march and had a problem with signs on there property. just my two cents.

Hmm, we'll need to rethink that then.

The bus stop.. I remember during March we had a pretty good system.. some of us were marching up and down the side with signs and Burger King was handing out fliers if the windows were open, or they opened them. We could have a few people doing that again.

Yeah though the best way we had was when we had major signs on the median and BK jr. booking it around to cars with fliers.
Now if someone can look into the possibility of us being on median legally we'd be set.

We tried to infiltrate zone blue, but the mission was a failure due to frozen fingers. As weather improves we shall make a second attempt ;)

I think transit has an office right beside the org, I saw some transit folks walking in and out. Sucks to be them eh? That might explain their "problem" :O

I think we have some great plans! Lets try to keep our mini-raids as covert as possible eh? I dunno how that stuff is gonna work.

Personally I'd really like it if miniraids at most are fliering or leaving the youfoundthecard cards laying around.

Well essentially that is all it would be. Similar to the SF free hug raids. However, I hear your concerns, and I agree. We'd have to be well prepared, well researched, and ensure there are no problems beforehand. That could be impossible, but we'd have to look into it.

I'd like to be there to pass out flyers while the scientologists are trying to give stress tests personally, but this isn't really about what i think. Those people deserve a balance of information. I dunno. I will leave it at that, and we can talk about it later as time progresses. :]

BANNER SUGGESTION:

Ima making a banner for next time, I will need a brave volunteer to help me hold it I guess. I say brave because I am clumsy and take no responsibility for hitting anyone with it :o Hahah, no JK.

Definitely looking for suggestions. I'm not looking to make something huge, but something a fair size. AnonOttawa had a neat banner, something like that but probably even a bit smaller.

Something like that would go over perfectly in my book, keep the signs to a low and be very polite.

Those of us in Brandon are going to attempt that as well for May 10th, do a little scattering of information. Get the word out in our area a bit. We did a little for March, but not as much as we wanted.
And xenuXthepool, I like your gameplan, but I agree about the bus stop area. Its gets kinda crowded with the buses. Maybe a small group there, and if we can get flyers or something. But the plan looks really good. lol, too bad it was too cold on a couple of those corners this time around to really use them.

We need a few guys handing out fliers and cards at the bus stop. It's too crowded to have a large group with signs. The hand-outs would be most effective there, because that's a high-pedestrian-traffic area.

I think, for the next raid, we need to prepare new signs. They need to be BIG, BOLD, AND SIMPLE for cars to read at a distance. The ones with finer details are only good if you can show them to the traffic that's stopped at the lights, so they have time to read it, but if we can't get on the median, then they won't be nearly as effective.

Anyone here know how to make a decent banner? The biggest I have are poster-sized papers.

Oh yeah, and if we can get some more of those epic Hubbard quotes posted around like in March, that'd be awesome. Those were hella lulzy.

Dear god you must not have been on irc for the sudden drama shit storm that occurred after.
You remember the one with n***er on it, well when no one said they took it down we went into panic mode and tried to send mouse out to take it down.
But otherwise works for me.

Also on a note about bigger signs, I have some cardboard that is about the same size as my honk sign so it's open to suggestions as what to put on it.
