This is mainly just to be visible) 2:30pm: we arrive at Co$, for speeches, honkitude, rickrolling, twister, cake, etc... 3:30pm: (or when police ask us to move on): march back to Bourke & Russell, go down the mall and flyer AND NOT STAND AROUND STARING AT BUSKERS! - if people can't resist the temptation of buskers then it may be beneficial to keep moving in a small loop. 4:30-5:00pm: Call it a day and get boozy Wiki: Operation Fair Game - May 10th 2008/Plans/Melbourne - AusChanology Wiki - also contains delicious map. Re: Melbourne, Australia
I also suggest we knuckle down and get a couple of speeches prepared before the end of the month. There was a bit of disarray come speech time on Saturday, so let's show a little initiative and give ourselves more time to fine-tune it. The more sleek, empowering, inclusive and emotive we can make our speeches, the better.

Re: Melbourne, Australia
OT9000+ yeah props for bringing the gear.
I meant if we had a couple of big Mackie speakers or something the cops might get shirty, cos they'd be loud as fuck. With Raidradio, we should be able to get good volume and good coverage and we can't really draw any complaint since they're just personal radios, right? ;) I think it'll also work nicely to get the word out when we're moving to a new location, I know there was some confusion at Bourke St as to when and where we were going next (ie the pub) |

Roadkill, reporting for duty.
May be housebound on the 10th (unless I'm sly like a fox.) so throw anything that can be done by correspondence over my way. Also - do we have an agreed theme yet? I've been hearing a lot of Operation: Fair Gamestop. I like the theme itself, and I'm all for seeing the CoS being raided by video game characters. Also, I really want my copy of Battle Toads. Edit: I also have a decent amplifier and microphone if anyone is interested. Not sure if the amp is battery powered but I'll take a look-see. Anyway, yeah, just putting it out there. |

Re: Melbourne, Australia
Yeah, it's hard to start planning without a set theme.
Pretty sure it's been covered, but just asking...are we definitely going to Bourke St again? I know it's going there for the hug raid, but just asking for May 10. Also, to end the protest and to stop confusion a closing speech would do well. If it's in a public area (And now the secluded part of where the Co$ is) it may look quite weird (Not that we don't already! Masked protestors...) however it could grab some srs attention from pass byers. Last edited by erhowboutno; 04-13-2008 at 10:25 PM. |

Re: Melbourne, Australia
If I can make it (Will have a yes or no by crunch time.) I'd love to make a speech should there be an international one. I say this because maybe instead of just the one guy making speeches, if we break up one big speech into a series of smaller ones spoken by different people, Joe and Jane Smith might stick around a bit longer.

The topic of Fair Game / Linda Waliki would be fairly good ammo to feed to the public. Particularly the latter, and it's still fresh on the local mind?

Re: Melbourne, Australia
Well, I'll be printing out a shitload of fliers, as per last time.
I'll be working on them as soon as I 100% know the theme for this. Also, if anyone wants to help print some out, I'll host the original flier on the net for you guys to grab. For the pub, I suggest getting prepared early, so everyone knows where we're going, and that they'll be happy to have us. After going to Bridie O'Rielly's I'd like to back, and I'm thinking I head in there sometime this week to talk about booking the top floor in advance. EDIT - I'm running under the belief that it is called 'Operation Fair Game: Stop' based on my lurking. I'll begin making fliers based on this theme Last edited by thebluemage; 04-13-2008 at 11:37 PM. |

Re: Melbourne, Australia
Hopefully my workload for uni dries up by the end of next week. Should I be so blessed, that will free up some time for me to get a few flier designs and speech ideas slated for y'all to scrutinise & work with at your leisure.

Re: Melbourne, Australia
Looks like it's Fair Gamestop (Game - Stop?? I'm not too sure of the gramatical agreement there.) Everyone, man your stations, prepare a video-game-orientated costume and get ready for the most epic Battle Toads troll ever.
(Also, anyone wanna come to EBgames with me and demand Battle Toads before the raid? Then we can tell the CoS "WE KNOW YOU HAVE THEM! EBGAMES TOLD US YOU DO!") |

And as for costume, it was 'discussed' (in other words, got conned into) that I would coem dressed as Frankenfurter. Not quiet game orientated, but good for some lulz. Quote:

Apparently the raid after this one may be Pirate themed. So unless your Pirate Chan, I suggest you hold back any High-Seas antics for now. I will be coming as Link (if I come) and demanding that the CoS hand over the Triforce of Power. Wise Beard Man has the Triforce of Wisdom and Anonymous is the Triforce of Courage. I demand someones comes as Mario and claim his Princess has been in L. Ron's castle all along. |

Re: Melbourne, Australia
Striker reporting. May 10 = day before Mother's Day yes?
Either way, I'll be there. Just wondering. Hopefully with the girlfriend too (although more for me than for her anti-Scientology stance) EDIT: Need ideas for a sign to go with the gillysuit. Something along the lines of 'I paid $500,000 for Scientology and all I got was this sniper suit.' |
