Scientologists are so hoplessly conditioned to think in levels. The idea of a vertical rather than horizontal organizational structure just doesn't compute in their heads. The only way Anonymous can make sense to them and fit the "tech" is if there are Elite Anonymous in the background hatching plans and issuing orders. Hubbard's policy letters repeatedly refer to leaders, ergo leaders must exists, because the tech is never wrong.

This is the key to the total ineffectiveness of their respone over the last few months. Even with full access to all of our forums and tens of thousands of pages of posts that clearly show there are no leaders, they won't be able to respond effectively, ever, because in order to do so they have to go against the tech.

No-no, they BELIEVE it. They are postulating leaders of Anonymous. They are mocking them up. They have no evidence so they are making up some inside their own minds. They think that by believing in something enough, it will come true.

The term is schizotypy (not schitophrenia, it's often confused with this.) schizotypy can be loosely termed "magical thinking" or (my words) people prone to a belief-based reality. As someone correctly pointed out, they cannot comprehend a broad based consensus of direction and leadership by ideas voted on by masses of peers rather than "vertical flowing authority." It does not fit into their basic world model, all movements must have a center and they must find the center of Anonymous. If they don't they must admit that the tech is imperfect and thus they cease to be Scientoligists.
